ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SUNDAY,AUGUST 25TH, 2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Kiss and Make Up Day this is good opportunity to end a spat and become friends again. No matter what it affects and why, it’s time to kiss and make up.
Studies show that people who forgive are happier and healthier than those that hold resentments . It’s not a day for discussions and talk the struggles and problems over. The kiss proves that we like the other one and are willing to let it be for the sake of friendship. Its’ a day for friends, lovers, family and everybody. Making up is such a nice thing to do.Leave all the troubles behind and have a great time!
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Forgiveness is a funny thing. It warms the heart and cools the sting.
William Arthur Ward
We all have fights with our nearest and dearest now and again.Whether it’s a clash with parents or a spat with a good friend. But life is to short to hold grudges and be bitter. Sometimes a grudge gets held too long and gets harder to let go of. It’s not aways easy but it’s better in the long run just to say your sorry and make up with whoever needs it. With all their faults, it’s good to have the people you love around you. So remember not to take loved ones for granted and appreciate the good stuff in your relationship. Top it all off with a big smooch and you will fully embrace the spirit of the day.
Some say that food is the way to a persons heart and in that spirit I’m sharing what I’m having for dinner today. While I was putting together my fruit pizza yesterday I made up a pot of cabbage and noodles so I would have something on hand to eat for the weekend.
Cabbage and Noodles
12 oz kiebassa or smoked sausage sliced
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/4 c. butter
1 onion
1/2 head of cabbage chopped. 6 -7 cups
2/3 c. frozen peas
8 oz. uncooked egg noodles
salt and pepper to taste
Cook noodles according to package directions drain, and set aside. In large pan, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil. Cook sausage util lightly browned. Add remaining, olive oil, butter and onion. Cook until softened about 5 minutes. If I have bacon drippings on hand I’ll use that instead of olive oil. It gives it a good flavor. When ever I fry up bacon, I always save the drippings in a bowl that is kept in the refrigerator.
Add cabbage and garlic. Cook until tender. Stir in peas, noodles and salt and pepper. Cook a few minutes longer until everything is heated through.

I’m off to the party today and because isn’t time to make it there on time, I’ll be missing church this morning, but will keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers as usual. Thanks to DS#5 and his family I have a ride there and back. I don’t drive any distance by myself these days and do appreciate the ride. Thankfully we’re to have a beautiful day with temps close to 80 degrees and mostly sunny.
Besides the food pictures today, the other ones ore of more back to school pictures. Our Princesss going back to college and our little Precious one to Pre K.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Say, thanks so much for sharing this picture of the fruit pizza! (Here, I was afraid I'd have to get all artsy and arrange the fruit 'just so.')

Have a good week!
Yummy food shown here! So true to try not to let grudges come up in our relationships and to forgive, move on and try to get along the best we can!
