ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SunDAY, AUGUST 11TH, 2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Son and Daughter Day which recognizes the positive impact children have on their parents lives. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate your sons and daughters. Let them know how much they mean to you and how much they are appreciated.
The origins of this holiday can be traced back to 1936 when a man named J. Henry Dusenburry first circulated the idea ;after; overhearing a young child ask why there was no holiday honoring sons and daughters. His efforts caught on and by 1945 people observed the holiday in as many as 22 states. To celebrate parents displayed flowers in their homes to recognize each of their children.
THOUGhT FOR THE DAY
Children are like flowers. Let them bloom by giving them your warm smiles, your soft gentle worlds falling on them like rain and your art of confidence. You will be amazed at your own garden.

There is no doubt in my mind that my children have made my life better than it ever could have been without them. They motivate me to do more above and beyond what I’d usually do. They give meaning and purpose to my life. I love each and everyone one of them unconditionally and have tried to never play favorites. What I give to one, I give to each one of them.
I’m very blessed to have 6 sons, one of them in heaven, and one daughter. I love the boys, but was very thankful to have had a daughter. DDH said he was glad he had sons, too, but was very thankful for his daughter. They were very close and had a special father daughter bond. I know he’d be very proud of the woman she has become too.
Our family isn’t perfect, but what we have together is a perfect in everyway. What one doesn’t have, the other makes up for. I always say we don’t have it all togher, but together we have it all.
After the death of my husband, my family was what held me together. Being a single parent wasn't easy at all, but with their help we made it. They all pitched in and helped out when I had to get back to work and that really made a big difference. We had to stick together and work together to get it all done.
I am so very thankful for each and every one of them. I often called DS#1 and #2 my right and left arms, but when they left home, the others stepped in to fill their place. We were always close and that’s where I keep each one of them, close to my heart where they remain forever. A family is a family forever.
That is what my pictures are of today, my family. They are definiitly one of the most important things in my life. Love you guys! Always ! Missing from the group picture is DS#1... Gone but neever forgotten by any one of us. And next weekend we are getting together for an end of summer celebration and DS#1’s birthday.
I hope you all have RELAXING Sunday

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Never miss a chance to let someone know how much they mean to you because tomorrow might be too late.
Wonderful post today and love that second picture:)
You have a wonderful family Ma. It is always great to read what you share of them. It was fun to see the pictures and the different heights of your sons I know you will always miss your first son but he left a great legacy!

I am so glad to have gotten to know you and your family through journaling. We may only see each other online but it is oh so special. Love the MaRainey Clan. 😀
Seeing your 6 loves together like this must make your heart rejoice. So often (too often) I hear of siblings who squabble -- or who have estranged themselves from one another. What a blessing, having them all pitch in when your DDH passed unexpectedly. As my momma used to say, they were raised right!
What a lovely family you have. Nat'l Son and Daughter Day is worth celebrating.
