ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SaturDAY, AUGUST 10TH, 2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National S’mores Day which are a delicious treats made from three simple ingredients - graham crackers, toasted marshmallows, and melted chocolate bars. Yum!
The first official s’mores recipe was published in the Girl Scout Handbook in 1927, but historians believe that the tradition began much earlier. Over the years, the recipe was possessed from camper to camper and eventually became the most famous fireside dessert.
They say the reason they are call s’mores is because you always want some more of this decadent sweet.
The way to celebrate today would be make a campfire and have some s’mores. No bonfire, no problem., you can’t toast marshmallows in a toaster oven or a micro wave.
You can lay a layer of graham cracker squares on a large baking sheet then top each square with a quarter of a chocolate bar and then place a marshmallow on top of each one then broil for about 2 minutes, watching carefully to ensure it doesn’t burn. Finally top with another graham cracker and press togethers. Easy and Delicious!
THOUGhT FOR THE DAY
Every day I love you a little S;more….
I do love smores and have spent many happy hours around a campfire making them. We would use our hot dog rosters to toast our marshmallows and then put them on a graham cracker that had a square of hershey’s chocolate bar on it. The heat of the marshmallow melts the chocolate and makes for a very gooey dessert sandwich. The thing about one s’more is that I can’t just have one.
It’s always a good idea to have some hand wipes on hand cbecuse they are very sticky too.
Campfires are a lot of fun, good food and good times!
I hope you all have SUPER Saturday!

S'mores are ooey gooey deliciousness !
I adore both camp fires and graham crackers … but have never tasted a smore. 'Was surprised to read about them being a Girl Scout 'thing.' I loved being a Brownie and a Girl Scout. Mom was our troop leader, but I guess she didn't get the memo. LOL!
A friend with chocolate! Once my gr-daughters discovered s'mores, they started fixing them on the range. One could eat nonstop. The other had common sense.
I love s"mores but it has been years since I,made them. Might have to change that soon.,
