ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY,AUGUST 30TH, 2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Frankenstein Day which celebrates the birthday of Mary Wollestone Shelley, born in 1797, the author of Frianstein. Franenstein is a novel first published in 1818. It’s is a story about a young Swiss called Victor Frankenstein who is able to create an artificial man.
We can celebrate today by reading the book or watching the movie. They are Classics!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side .
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
.
The monsters of our childhood do not fade away, neither are they ever wholly monsters.
John le Carre
Other than the picture of one of my grandson’s who made the cutest Frankenstein ever, the pictures today are of my own horror story, the kitchen cupboards and the dishes in them The cabinets had a huge crack develop between them and the ceiling so I called our maintenance deportment to Come out and fix it. It turned out that they hadn’t been installed correctly and we letting loose from the wall. Everything had to come out of the cupboards and then the men managed to jack them back up in place and secured them with new screws attached to the ceiling studs. Thanks to them a disaster was diverted. It wasn’t what I had planned for the day.but it’s done and over now. You never know what a new day might bring. Yesterday was truly a horror story of my own. The fear was that everything would come loose and fall down, but happily it was fixed before anything could happen.
Today, I have everything put back safely in the cupboards once more and I’m going to spiffing up the house for the party I’m having on Sunday, September 1st. It’s a just desserts party and should be a sweet reward for all those that worked hard all year and my way of honoring Labor Day.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
He who fights with monsters might take care lest he become a monster, is not life a hundred times too short to bore ourselves?

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Thankfully all is well now, but it could have been much worse.
Glad that everything worked out okay, Ma, and nothing got damaged! How fun with your dessert party tomorrow. That is a great idea!

Cutie patutti, your own little Frankenstein!
Your horror story and pictures prompted me to go to our kitchen and glare at the ceiling seams. With exception of the color, ours are positioned exactly like yours. So fortunate you noticed it before any real damage was done! I, too, am looking forward to hearing more about your 'just desserts' party.
So glad you caught that before it all came tumbling down. You are so right about not what you thought the day would hold, I have had a few of those too.
