ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Red Rose day which is a day to appreciate this favorite flower. Roses have long been used as symbols of love and beauty.
Roses are best known as ornamental plants grown for their flowers in the garden. They have been used for commercial perfumery and cut flower crops. Some are used as landscape plants, for hedging for other utilitarian purposes such as ground cover and slope stabilization.
To celebrate today buy or plant a Red Rose today!
Today is also Peanut Butter Cookie Day

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It will never rain roses; when we want to have more roses we must plant more trees.
George Eliot
I’ve always loved roses and I recently bought a new rose bush which is pictured above. I planted it in a container and put it where it will get plenty of sunshine on the patio of the car port. I’m not sure if it will make it or not. It had several roses on it when I planted it, but they’re all gone now. However it is full of buds. I think they need more sunshine so they’ll open up. It’s developed some yellow leaves at the bottom of the plant, so I decided to put another empty pot beneath it too just incase the concrete heats up too much. I don’t want to fry its roots. We’ll see if that helps.
There is nothing I can do about our weather. We had sunshine yesterday, but today is to be mostly cloudy. I can only wait and see if it survives our Ohio weather.
We could use more sunshine. In the news, they say that our farmers have only 1/3 of Ohio's corn crop planted. The constant spring rains have made it much too wet. Many are wondering if they’ll have any crops at all.
Meanwhile, we take each day as it comes and do the best with what we’ve got.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns; I am thankful that thorns have roses.
Alphonse Karr
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7150. for red roses, just beautiful
7151. for sunshine, necessary for things to grow
7152. for this new day, another trip around the sun
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

ADVICE FOR TODAY
Don’t hurry. Don’t worry.
You’re only here for a short visit;
So don’t forget to stop and smell the roses.
Walter Hagen
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Always take time to stop and smell the roses...
Hope your rosebush makes it Ma! I do like roses and always stop a moment at the store and admire them before I start grocery shopping. They smell so good!

There’s a kind of suspense when watching a plant. I have a gardenia Bush I have been watching and moving around for a few years now. I have had one and only one gardenia from it! It’s in a pot and what with cutting the old elm off, I’ve had to move it again. It needs sun but not too much! I hope your rose makes it! Louis Dean wants to buy some for down here. Sherry mentioned last night that she has the panels to fence the yard! Talk about being a squatter - we are sure putting down some deep roots!
Good idea about the 2nd pot, Ma. I need all the advice I can get! :)
