ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Sun Glasses Day which is a day to protect your eyes from the glaring sun and celebrate this practical invention. Sun glasses are a form of protective eyewear designed primarily to prevent bright sunlight from damaging or discomforting the eyes.
Healthcare professionals recommend eye protection whenever the sun comes out to protect the eyes from ultraviolet radiation which can cause serious eye problems.
Since the 1940s sunglasses have been a popular fashion accessory, especially on the beach.
It is also National Pineapple Day and National Handshake Day

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The future is so bright I gotta wear sunglasses.

I recently picked up a new pair of sunglasses and a new straw hat for the summer. Sometimes I need to wear both to block the sun’s rays. It seems the older I get, the more the bright sunlight bothers my eyes. There are times when I’m blinded by the sun’s glare. So both are needed.
I now have two pairs of sunglasses, one for the car and one I keep inside for when I go out and do yard work. They really make a big difference.
Today I’m mixing up some chicken salad for tomorrow’s lunch so I’m sharing the recipe. I love it served on Croissants
Chicken Salad with Grapes and Pecans
Makes 4 servings
2 c. cooked shredded chicken
1/2 to 2/3 c. mayonaise
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. grapes, halved
1/3 c. pecans chopped
1/4 c. red onion diced
2 tbsp. chopped parsley
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
4 Crossants
Add the chicken, 1/2 c. mayo, celery, grapes pecans, onion, parsley, salt, and pepper to mixing bowl and stir until well combined. Add addition mayo if you like a wetter consistency.
Store covered in fridge to allow the flavors to meld together before serving. Divide evenly between 4 croissants.
It’s also my day to make a grocery run. I’m doing it early before it gets hot out. It’s summer time and we’re finally feeling the heat and humidity here. I’m not complaining at all, it feels good, but the car gets way too hot sitting in the parking lot.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!

7195. for sunglasses to protect our eyes
7196. for sight, a wonderful gift
7197. for lunch to share with friends
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Save your eyes, wear sunglasses!
Cute pictures with sunglasses. My regular glasses changes to dark when I go outside but sometimes not as fast as I would like:)
All great pictures of your family and you wearing sun glasses! I totally agree, we need the protection of our face and eyes when out in the summer sun. A necessity I do believe!

Sun glasses are part of my wardrobe! Bright sun + desert heat are misery for me. And a hat, always wear a hat.
I'm SO bad about remembering to take my sunglasses OUT of my purse and onto my face. The sun's no-where as intense as in Phoenix, but still. Your hat is darling!
YUM on the chicken salad; that's one of my very favorite things. I keep wanting to make a batch, but wind up eating the chicken by itself. Do you have a Chicken Salad Chick franchise nearby? So far, they've 12 varieties and I'm doing my best to work my way through them all. LOL!
