Today is National Pink Day which is set aside for the color pink and all it represents.  First used as a color name in the late 17th century, pink is a pale red color which got its name from a flower of the same name. Pink is one of those colors that instantly adds brightness and fun to any day!

The most apparent way to celebrate is to wear pink today or enjoy foods and beverages that are pink.  

If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side

I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner.  I believe in kissing, kissing a lot.  I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong.  I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.  I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.

While red is my favorite color I also like to wear certain shades of pink. It is a happy color   I also like to drink pink lemonade so I thought in honor of today I’d share a recipe for making your own.

Homemade Pink Lemonade

Makes 4 servings

3/4 c. sugar

3 c. water

2/3 c lemon juice

1/3 c. cranberry juice

In large pitcher, combine all ingredients.  Stir to dissolve sugar and serve over ice.

I’ve made stuffed peppers and got some sweet corn at the store so that is what I’m having for my weekend dinners.  I also got watermelon for dessert.  It’s my first one of the season.  

 I’ll be off to church and will wear my pink today. We are to have a sunny day once again, but rain is supposed to return on Monday.
