ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is the Summer Solstice for people who live in the Northern Hemisphere of the world. Today is the longest day of the year and the first official day of Summer. In the Arctic Circle there will be 24 hour of daylight.
The summer solstice occurs when the Earth’s axial tilt is closest to the sun. Summer is the warmest of the four temperate seasons, between spring and autumn. Schools and universities typically have a summer break to take advantage of the warmer weather and longer days.
Happy Summer!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Summertime is always the best of what might be.
Charles Bowden
They say that the first day of Summer will bring sunny skies and temps in the mid to upper 70’s here in northern Ohio. It’s going to be a great day to get outside and enjoy the nice weather.
Summer is a time when things slow down a bit and vacations begin. Summer is a time for the beach and that is what my pictures are of today. My beach day last year. It’s on my list of things to do again this year. While our beaches along Lake Erie have taken a hit with all the rains and winds this Spring, we still have them, and the one like to go to is only 30 minutes away from where I live.
Summer is the time to enjoy sitting on the porch and I’ve been making it a point to sit on the sunporch and watch the sunset when I can when it’s not been cloudy and raining. Every sunset reminds me to be thankful for another day.
It’s also a time to travel and spend more time with our families, go on picnics, make camp fires and toast marshmallows and make some new memories too. It’s the season of more fresh fruits and vegetables. Watermelon seems to be everyone’s favorite , but here we also get fresh strawberries, peaches, blueberries and cantaloupes to enjoy. Later on we’ll even have apples and grapes on the vine.
We need to make the most of these summertime days before it’s over.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Summer has traditionally been something I just endure … but I'm determined to try and find some good in it everyday.
