Today is also National Honesty Day which celebrates frankness, trustworthiness, openness and truthfulness.  Honesty is a great virtue.  If we want people to believe us when it’s important, the we need to be open and honest all the time.

This grandson’s birthday is another of my long distance celebrations.  He’s fast growing up into a wonderful young man.  He’s very talented and is in his school choir and participated in Drama Club at school too.  He has a wonderful voice and puts it to good use.  

I try to be an honest person and tell the truth as I know it. It is always the best policy. They say the first step to being truthful is to be honest with yourself.  My life is a simple one and there’s not much I’d lie about if I could.  My life is like an open book.  Being truthful isn’t always easy though and sometime we try to sugar coat it to avoid hurting others feelings.  But sooner or later the truth will always shine through.  So it’s always best to tell the truth.

Tuesdays are always my day to get organized, make the to do lists and check off what I’ve done and still need to do.  The grocery ads come on Tuesdays here too and I’ll give them a go over to see if there is anything on sale that I need.  There isn’t much I need, but if it’s on a good sale, then that’s the store I’ll shop at.  It’s nice I have a good selection of stores to go to that are close by.

Today is the International Dance Day which seeks to promote the art of dance around the world. This day is all about the history of dance and recognition of its place in society.

Its a day to put on your red shoes and dance the blues away. The human body’s ability to move and grove has captivated the way we interact with music and express ourselves artistically.

I think most of us like to dance in some form or fashion.  I’m not the best of dancers, but often move to the music that is playing.  They say is it great exercise too and our community here even provided line dancing classes here last winter.  I didn’t go, but thought it was a great idea.  

I’m not very flexible on my feet anymore at all but that doesn’t keep me from doing a happy dance every now and then.  Ha!

Today’s pictures are just o few of my grandchildren going to their proms and school dances in the past.  No doubt there was a lot of dancing going on. 

It’s a new week and hard to believe that another month is almost over and the month of May is just around the corner.  It’s been chilly here, but that hasn’t stopped the flowers from blooming.  The ornamental pear and weeping cheery trees are all a bloom as well as magnolia trees.  It’s such a beautiful time of year.  

I was just a little lax in my house keeping duties last week so this week I have to focus on some cleaning.  It’s also time to think about packing away my Easter decorations and getting out something new.  The month of May will be all about the red, white, and blue here at my house.  It will be a good theme to carry through the month of June and July too. 

Time just keeps moving forward, never stops.  On the bright side, I always have plenty to do!

Today is National Superhero Day whicn honors superheroes both real and fictional.  The people who risk their lives to keep others safe.

There are all kinds of superheroes in our world including some like Firemen, Policemen, those that drive ambulances and sometimes a mother or father hard at work.  Superhero day reminds us that superheroes come in all shapes and sizes and being one is more about valor of the heart that super powers.

The day first got it’s start in 1995 when Marvel Comics employees went out to ask the world what super powers kids would want to have.  The results were people talking about the superheroes in their own lives and how often they looked like your normal person.

To celebrate this day, keep your eyes open for those who are need of helping instead of thinking someone should do something, step up and become that someone.  There are countless ways we can all be superheroes in our every day life.

We sometimes forget that the best heroes in our life are the ones that are like ordinary people, but often do some very extra ordinary things.  They exhibit courage, kindness and resilience in the face of danger or adversity.  

My family and friends are my heroes and they help me more than they could possibly know.  Their love and encouragement means every thing to me.  

Today’s pictures of a trip that I made with two of my friends to a local arboretum last year. It was decorated with superheroes of all kinds to celebrate the occasion.  We found them everywhere stuck in between all the plants.  

This is Sunday so I’ll be off to church where we are still celebrating Easter and remembering the best and greatest Hero of our lives.  Alleluia, He is Risen!
