ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Cappuccino Day which is a tribute to the frothy Italian drink named after Capuchin friars in 16th century Italy. Their simple brown robes are the color of expresso mixed with frothed milk.
Prepared with espresso, hot milk, and a cap of steamed foam, cappuccino is the customary way to jumpstart your day in Italy and Western Europe. It’s just the opposite here, cappuccino is most popular as an after dinner drink.
To celebrate today, treat yourself to a kick of caffeine and have a Cappuccino!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in you life.
Wayne Dyer
For me cappuccino is a sweet treat and when I do have one, it would in the afternoon or after dinner. In the morning I like my coffee black. No sugar, no cream. I like to use the Cappuccino mixes that you have to mix with hot water. Simple and tasty too. Right now I have a tin of vanilla on the shelf. I don’t buy coffee out often, but on the rare occasions I have, a cappuccino is a treat !
Although I’ve never made my own, they say there is a simple way to make a fair facsimile at home.
Cappuccino
1 c. skim milk
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. strong brewed coffee
After your coffee has brewed, combine sugar and milk and heat it in your microwave for 2 minutes. Next whip the heated milk and sugar mix in your blender for a bout 1 minute until fluffy. Fill your cup two thirds full of coffee and top it off with heated froth.
The weather is getting colder and beginning to feel like winter is on the way so I’m drinking more and more hot drinks. Really anything hot - tea, chocolate, soups, stews - all hit the spot these days.
Holiday tip for the day: create a menu
Creating a weekly menu is very important when it comes to making your grocery list. To save time when preparing meals, place recipes and ingredient lists for each menu inside page protectors to have on hand when it’s time to shop or cook.
I may try to get outside and do a little more leaf duty today. Otherwise it’s looking like a good day to do a little more crafting in Santa’s work shop.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Each moment a blessing of abundance, each breath a prayer of thanksgiving.
Michael Rawls
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6502. for cappuccino, at warm treat on cold days
6503. for menus and grocery lists
6504. for my coffee maker which also dispenses hot water
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.
Oprah Winfrey
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

On that note, I think it's time for another good cup of coffee. Maybe Pumpkin Spice this time!
I love a good cup of cappuccino! And skinny vanilla lattes!
47 days until Christmas! I’m putting the last of my fall decorations away this afternoon when we get back from visiting the nursing home. Then I will clean. Possibly next week I’ll open up the Christmas House (former play house) and see what I shall do. This year I have promised myself I will not use it all!
That pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks is as good as a fancy dessert!
Our leaves haven’t started to fall in earnest yet......
Oh MA, I do love that coffee cup of yours with the rooster on it. And the magical liquid inside looks so yummy. I love my coffee... no matter how it is served! Love, Andrea xoxo
I don’t drink a lot of hot drinks, but do enjoy a hot caffeine free cappuccino from time to time! Your rooster mug is very nice! I love chickens and roosters! Happy Thursday! Xoxo
A cup of cappuccino sounds wonderful about now! Unfortunately, I'm too tuckered out to go out and buy the mix. Instead, on this dreary gray day I'll prepare a cup of Café Vienna - and pretend. LOL!
I used to love cappuccino! I gave up coffee and caffeine over a year ago; still miss it just a bit when we walk by a Starbucks and I see the delicious drinks being prepared :)
For years, I've used a weekly menu for years. Saves so much time to plan once and get it over with for the week and it does cut down on unnecessary purchases at the store.
betty
Cappuccino sounds (and smells!) really good, but I've never tasted it. Guess I'll have to salute the day with a cuppa tea. :)
The smell of coffee is one of the best smell in the world.
I love your blog.
I have that rooster mug... :) My red one is faded now from so much use and washing but I also have one each in yellow, green and blue... :)
