ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is America Recycles Day which encourages people to do their part and recycle. Recycling one ton of paper saves 17 trees, 2 barrels of oil, 4100 kilowatts of energy, 3.2 cubit yards of landfill space , and 60 pounds of air pollution. These environmental benefits are enough of an incentive for everyone to take part in recycling.
By reusing the Earth’s natural resources, we reduce green house gas emissions and the need to build landfills. We also ensure that these natural resources will be around for future generations to use.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
None of us can do all the things that will save the planet. But each one of us can do some of them, and all of that will add up.
Paula Danziger
The rockers pictured in the picture above is made from recycled material, as are many others things. I’ve had them several years now and they are holding up really good. Just like new, they are sturdy and weather proof too. One is mine and the other used to belong to my sister that passed away. I can sit there and remember the many hours we spend rocking on the patio just a few short years ago.
Unlike other outdoor furniture, you really don’t need to store it away or cover it up to protect it. Recycled products come in many shapes and sizes and I think it’s good to take advantage of them.
To make a difference, some folks recycle aluminum cans, plastic bottles and newspapers. Little things matter.
There is now only two days left before our Family Feast on Saturday, so I’ve been keeping busy. Only four out of my seven children and their families will be getting together this year, but we have added a few of our extended family as well. We’ll be missing the ones that cannot make it. Due to time and distance, their presence isn’t possible, but those of us that can, will no doubt enjoy being together.
There really isn’t much of anything else happening here. It has turned very cold and snowflakes are a possibility as far as the weather goes.
Today we are under a Winter weather advisory. We could have snow, sleet, and freezing rain that could make traveling conditions hazardous. It’s what they call a wintry mix. Good thing that the only thing I have to do outside is walk to the mail box and back. I’m making pie crust today and a pie made from my pie pumpkin. It’s a good day to be inside for sure.
I’ve been recycling the leaves by mulching them up here with my mower. They are supposed to add valuable nutrients to your lawn. However, snow will prevent that from happening, so I don’t know how much longer that will be possible. The rest may have to wait until spring. We’ll see...
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Thanksgiving Day comes, by statue, once a year; to the honest man it comes as frequently as the heart of gratitude will allow.
Edward Sandford Martin
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6523. for recycling, keeping America beautiful
6524. for my family, both immediate and extended
6525. for central heating, it’s nice and warm on the inside
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.
Dr. Seuss, the Lorax
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Remember: a little difference can become a big difference. We can all make a difference in this world!
We have many leaves to clean up yet too, MA. Our snow came early this year. We got the rest of the land put to bed for winter but the leaves weren't nearly all picked up. Our pear tree out front will be shedding leaves on Christmas Day so we're always picking up leaves and shoveling snow at the same time. Oh well... the leaves compost under the snow too. Stay warm! Lovingly, Andrea xoxo
I always like to recycle if I can or repurpose something if I'm through with it. We do need to take care of the earth that God gave us and its resources :) Hubby cut the grass the other day. He probably won't have to do it too much more this fall and winter unless we get a lot of rain.

We are obsessive about recycling. Always have been.
Your trees are gorgeous, Pam! I was surprised when we moved here, there's no residential (pick-up) recycling. Sad! You may have seen on social media, there are 21,000+ miles of roads in India paved with plastic waste.
Those chairs look really comfy; perfect all-weather. I need to be on the look-out for something like that.
