ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Forget Me Not Day which is a day to remember family, friends and love ones. We can use Forget Me Not day as a chance to get in touch with anyone we haven’t seen in a while. It feels good finding out that there is someone out there who remembers us.
The Forget Me Not is a beautiful blue blooming flower that is often used as a symbol for remembrance.
This day was created in 1921 to remind Americans of the sacrifices returning soldiers had made and originally raised funds for services where there were none available for the returning veterans.
REMEMBER AND NEVER FORGET
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Always remember and never forget…
Always remember to forget
the friends that proved untrue
but never forget to remember those
that have stuck by you.

Life is full of distractions, too many in fact. It is easy to overlook the important people in our lives. It’s important that we take the time to let the people in our lives know just how much they mean to us and how much we appreciate them.
I can only hope that you all know how much you mean to me. I want you to know just how much you are appreciated! My life would not be the same if it weren’t for all my family and friends. I don’t have any pictures of Forget Me Nots to share, but I did find some others that seemed to fit.
The weekend is here and it’s to be a cold one in our neck of the woods. They are saying we will be in the 30’s for a high with lows in the 20’s. Although some had snow in nearby areas yesterday morning, I only saw rain. Today however, is a different story and we do have some snow on the ground. The sun is shining though so it probably won’t last long.
Today I’m hoping to do some cooking for the weekend. In my efforts to clean out the freezer this week, I’ve been trying to use up the leftovers that I have stored away. I have frozen chili so I’m thinking I’ll be using that to make some Chill Mac. It easy to do. Just cook up macaroni per package directions and then add the leftover chili, and some extra tomato sauce if needed, heat through and sprinkle with some cheese. I like to use the wagon wheel shaped pasta when I make this and call it wagon wheel chili. It’s a throw back from when the babes were little.

Protect our military

enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.

Always remember and never forget the ones that love you most!
It is good to remember those that we love every day and especially today :) Brr with your weather! Seems early in the season for snow, so its good to know that it won't be sticking around hopefully!

Wagon-wheel chili … what a cute idea! Yes. This time of year really lends itself to hot, nourishing soups and stews. We've both green chile stew and 'regular' chili on hand, but I try to always keep a couple cans of canned Hormel chili in the pantry. Have you ever tried it, mixed with scrambled cheesy eggs? Yum!
Interesting about the origin of forget-me-not! I always grow a little sentimental over Veterans Day observances. Wouldn't those soldiers have been in awe of the internet, and our ability to connect with friends (and strangers, too) across the world?
