ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Happy Birthday to you♥
Today is also Chicken Soup for the Soul Day which a heart warming holiday that pays tribute to the inspirational stories within the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series.
This day celebrates who you are, where you’ve been, where you’re going and who you will be thankful to when you get there. These books have been popular for over 20 years, selling more than 110 million copies in the U.S. and Canada.
Their inspiration stories have allowed ordinary people to share their extraordinary stories with the world. We can celebrate today by reading a book from the series, perhaps over a warm bowl of homemade chicken soup.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop to look around once in a while you could miss it.
From the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
This DIL’s birthday is another one of my long distance celebrations but I’m hoping to see her soon as Thanksgiving time is coming soon and we’ll be having our annual family gathering on the 17th. A card was sent with lots of love and birthday wishes.
This is the first November birthday in our family but there are a few more coming up before the month is over. Thankfully 2 of them will be close by and I’ll get to celebrate with them in person.
This week my focus is going to be on getting ready for our family Thanksgiving. I’ve got pumpkin pie to make from scratch, a ham, and a few other treats to share with my family. Everyone one brings something to share and DD and her hubby will supply the Turkey and the stuffing. They will be our hosts for Thanksgiving this year and we’ll be celebrating this coming Saturday. I’ll be making my list and heading to the store to get what is needed.
Today’s holiday tip: Round up the holiday recipes.
It’s cooking week for me and its time to find the recipe cards or cookbooks I need.
With the cold and flu season it’s also time to wipe down our door knobs, light switches and phones. Using plain rubbing alcohol on a rag or something antibacterial to get rid of germs and hand prints that have built up.
No doubt this will be a busy week, but I’m going to enjoy it all because getting ready for any holiday is half the fun for me.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual. O how I laugh when I think of my vague indefinite riches. No run on my bank can drain it, for my wealth is not possession but enjoyment.
Henry David Thoreau
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6514. for DDIL#1, it’s her birthday
6515. for antibacterial wipes, they come in handy
6516. for holiday prep, always fun for me
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

So happy to have this lovely DIL in my life and another reason to celebrate!
Happy birthday to DDIL#1. I hope her day is a great one! Your family celebration on Saturday sounds like it will be so delicious with what you are planning to bring and I'm sure others are equally planning yummy items!

Happy ☺ Birthday 🎂
Happy Birthday to your lovely DIL! What a resemblance! Why she and your g'daughter look more like sisters than mom and daughter!
I love the Chicken Soup books, too. A few years back I grew out of the habit when I'd read everything our public library had in stock. I should check out what's new, shouldn't I?
That's a good tip about disinfecting our surfaces and knobs with rubbing alcohol. In fact, I use it so liberally (to break through hair spray residue on bathroom surfaces) I need to add another bottle to my shopping list.
