ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is World Freedom Day which commemorates the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and recognizes the end of communist rule in Eastern and Central Europe. World Freedom Day was declared a national holiday by former President George W. Bush and has been observed in the US since 2001. Ronald Regan is often celebrated on this holiday given his role as president during the Cold War and the collapse of the Iron Curtin.
Today, acknowledge and celebrate the freedoms that you are granted as a citizen of a free and sovereign nation. At the same time recognize the many people in the world who are still fighting for their own freedoms and liberties.
Today is also National Scrapple Day and Cook Something Bold Day
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Freedom is never free.

Every day is a good day to celebrate the freedoms we have and to remember those less fortunate. This time of year we remember how and why our country was founded. People came here to find freedom from their oppressors. It was created on the premise that every man is equal. We all have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
DS#4 and his wife got to take a trip to NYC this fall and took the pictures of the Statue of Liberty shown below. It’s the symbol of the torch of freedom lighting our path to freedom.
We’ll soon be remembering our Veterans, the people that help to keep our country free. As a mom of a retired military son, I know how many sacrifices they make in order to protect us. The price of freedom is never free.
Here we are at the end of another week. This Friday finds me quite behind. I had more planned to do than I had energy for. At this rate I’ll never catch up, but on the bright side, I will always have something to do.
My sister invited me to the movies yesterday. It was a nice break and something I rarely do. I cannot remember when I went to one last, but it was long ago. I got the requisite bag of popcorn to go with the movie and it was $6 for a medium size. That has to be the most expensive bag of popcorn I’ve ever had. It was also the saltiest! But on the bright side the movie was a funny one and we had lots of laughs.
We have a 100% chance of snow/rain this morning, so I’ll be staying in and trying to do my best with what I’ve got to do and making the best of what I have. We’re to be in the low 40’s and tonight we’ll be down into the mid 20’s. BrrrChill!
Remember: what ever the weather always bring your own sunshine!
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6505. for freedom
6506. for something to do
6507. for a good cup of Holiday Blend coffee to start the day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.
Abraham Lincoln
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

I'm so thankful to be living in a county that is the home of the brave and the land of the free..
I'm glad we do live in a free company and its good to thank a veteran for their service! How fun with the movie. The prices of treats are ridiculous at them, though. I don't know how people who are dating can afford to go to dinner and a movie like we used to when we were dating all those years ago.

When I type '1989' it sounds so long ago … yet I remember the Wall coming down like it was yesterday!
We've not been to the movies in a while now, so I recoiled at bit at you having to pay $6 for that popcorn! So glad you enjoyed the movie. Maybe when we don't do something all the time, we appreciate it that much more?
