ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Creamsicle Day which is the perfect way to sit back, relax and cool down on a hot August day. The combination of vanilla cream and fruity ice is pure genius!
The classic Creamsicle flavor combination is orange and vanilla, although many other types are available. You can now find this frozen treat in blue raspberry, lime, grape, cherry and blueberry.
Creamsicles are not hard to find, but they are also easy to make at home. Mix together fruit juice and vanilla ice cream in a large bowl. The gradually add milk and continue to mix. Pour the mixture into a small paper cup and place in the freezer. Once they are partially frozen, insert popsicle sticks into them and freeze until they solid. Peel off the paper cups and enjoy the creamsicle.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes.
Sara Teasdale
Sorry to say I have no pictures of creamsicles to share nor do I have any creamsicles at all here at my house, but they are definitely on my list next time I go to the store. I want to enjoy some while summer is still here.
Yesterday I managed to get the laundry done and today I’m hoping to get the vacuum sweeper run around the house and do some dusting. Tomorrow is my day to shop and run errands while the sun shines. Thursday is usually the day to get the yard work done, but they say we may have rain. In that case I’ll spend the day in the craft nook. The days are all full and busy here.
I’ve heard that some of my grandchildren are starting back to school this week and I’m sure I’ll soon have some back to school pictures to share with you all. Time flies when you’re having fun and soon fall will be here. Labor Day is my unofficial beginning of fall as that is when all our summertime activities cease and school days resume for all.
The first official day of Fall is not until September 22nd, so meanwhile I’ll be trying to enjoy what’s left of summer. I noticed my neighbors tree is starting to loose leaves already. It did the same last year. It was practically bare by the time my trees were just turning color. Not sure at all what kind of tree it is, but it sheds it’s leaves early on and is the first sign that fall is coming in my neighborhood.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
There is no such thing in anyone’s life as an unimportant day.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Every day is a gift !
In elementary school we used to call those yummy creamsicles "push-ups." (*smiling at the memory*)
Today's my time to vacuum, as well. Later, Wal-Mart. I try to stay out of the stores on weekends and after 5, and let the 'working folk' have a speedier experience.
I love creamsicles but haven't had them in a long time. Might pick up a box for the family to share when they come over next Sunday for dinner. I like the traditional ones of orange and vanilla ice cream. Tuesdays are my days to clean the bathrooms so they got done this morning :)

I love a Tuesday! Today Louis Dean and I will visit Reaoma. He’s going to take his guitar and play for her. I think I may skip the thrift stores....or maybe I’ll just go to one! Tomorrow I’m taking the older grands to the lake to spend the entire day so I’ll pick up all the picnic food and get ready today. The days just seem to fly by, don’t they?
