ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Coast Guard Day which honors the military branch that protects our waters and shoreline. This military branch originated on August 4, 1790 and was originally referred to as the Revenue Cutter Service. They are now playing an even more extensive role in Homeland Security to protect our country.
Grand Haven, Michigan is known as Coast Guard City, USA. Their annual celebration is famous for it’s large gathering of people in celebration and commemoration of the Coast Guard.
Gove a Salute to our Coast Guard personnel today and every day !
Happy Coast Guard Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
After a visit to the beach, it’s hard to believe that we live in a material world.
Pam Shaw
The Coast Guard is mentioned a lot in our news. They are often called on to rescue people on Lake Erie who may have trouble with their boats or even swimmers who are floundering. So we know just how important they are.
Today’s pictures are of our part of the coastline of Lake Erie and the beach which is my favorite place to be. Theres a lot to be said for sitting on the beach and enjoying the cool breezes off the lake on a hot sunny day.
The weekend is here once again and once again it looks like a quiet one for me. Summertime laziness has set in and I’m finding it hard to shake it. While I did manage to get a few things done this week, more should have been done, but they will wait for cooler days when I have more energy.
I try to focus on what’s important first and the rest will follow.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
If there is a heaven for me, I am sure it has a beach attached to it.
Jimmy Buffet
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6221. for our Coast Guard, protecting our coastline.
6222. for lazy weekends, needed and appreciated
6223. for retirement, it’s great to have time to take things slow and easy.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

The coastline of Lake Erie is beautiful and often filled with tourists from all over in the summer. We do appreciate our Coast Guard.
God bless the Coast Guard!
I would love to see the Great Lakes, you are lucky!
Pretty beach! Glad the Coast Guard is there to help out those in need. It is good to have summer laziness. Before long it will start cooling down and we'll all feel like being more active in getting things done.

I wish I lived nearer to a beach. Galveston is five hours away. I used to go there often but in recent years not so much. Looking forward to our cruise in September and then the road trip home. I think we will linger a few days on the Oregon coast and walk some beaches!
Pace yourself this weekend! Work is always there to do! Do it today and it seems to pop right back the next day to be done again. I feel like I’m playing that arcade gopher game where they keep popping up and I’m hitting them as fast as I can!
Ah, the 'often forgotten' branch of our military forces! Still, they proudly go about their important work day in and day out. Thank goodness!
Thanks for publishing these pictures! My family took a Great Lakes cruise years ago, but I never considered the lakes having beautiful beaches. Their enormity is something!
