ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Senior Citizens Day which is a day to recognize and show appreciation of the value and contributions of our elderly population that they make to home, family and society.. According the traditional definitions, a senior citizen is anyone older than 60 years of age, but this seems relatively young in today’s society.
President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the first Senior Citizens Day in 1988.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Grow old with me! The best is yet to be.
Robert Browning
I am a senior citizen and am glad to be the age I am. It’s nice to be living life in the slow lane after having worked for many years. Of course there are drawbacks to getting older, but thankfully, I am still relatively healthy and can still do most everything I used to do, but much slower.
Today is to be a rainy day and so I’ll spending the day inside. The laundry is calling my name. It seems I no more than get it all put away and it’s time to start over again.
Our county fair has started and I know of at least one person that won’t appreciate the wet day. Not many people will be attending when it’s wet and rainy. DS#5 is there doing his character sketches. Hopefully the rain will stop and won’t last all day. If you go to the fair make sure to look him up.
I plan to go on Thursday when admission is free for seniors. The long distance forecast says that it will be cooler and sunny. Hopefully I’ll have lots of pictures to share.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
There is always a lot to be thankful for, if you take the time to look. For example I’m sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don’t hurt.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6272. for rainy days to do the housework
6273. for the county fair and all the good food and things to see
6274. for a washer and dryer that make laundry day easy
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
It’s important to have a twinkle in your wrinkle.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Life is good in the slow lane!
In Canada where I am from they consider you to be a Senior when you reach 55 . All kinds of discounts kick in! Oh, I do so love County Fairs! Always have done! I hope you have a lovely time! Xoxo
I'm glad to be a senior citizen and get those discounts that are offered for those 55 or 60 years old. I know more discounts will kick in at 65 years old. There always seems to be an abundance of laundry, doesn't there? Even with only 2 people living here we do have to do several loads a week plus the towels, sheets, etc.
How fun with the county fair! That's neat they offer a day for the seniors to get in free. Always enjoyable to look around and see what is offered there.

Oh, I enjoy watching caricature artists work. That's a neat talent!
I never expected to enjoy being a Senior Citizen, but what-d'ya know? So far, so good. Another cute quote I spotted in this book (Andy Rooney): "It's paradoxical that the idea of living a long life appeals to everyone, but the idea of getting old doesn't appeal to anyone."
One thing for sure I've discovered, it ain't for sissies!
