ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Women’s Equality day which commemorates the 19th Amendment to the constitution granting women the right to vote.
This was the culmination of decades of effort by women suffragettes and others groups. Today we celebrate their accomplishments made in gaining the right to vote and towards equality for women.
This special day was created by a Joint Resolution of Congress in 1971. It designates August 26th of each year as Women’s Equality Day.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Equal laws protecting equal rights…the best guarantee of loyalty and love of country.
James Madison
In this day and age it’s hard to believe that there was a time when women were not allowed to vote. I’m thankful for all that was done to make this happen. I think we are all created equal and should be treated as such. Sadly there are parts of the world that women are not treated equally at all.
It’s Sunday and I’ll be off to church as usual today, but other than that I’m not so sure I’ll be doing much of anything else but relaxing. It’s a blessing live in a country where I have the right to worship as I please and do what I please.
We are to have higher temps along with more humidity here for the next few days. Summer is once again reminding us that it’s not Fall yet. I’m just very grateful that we had a couple of cooler days to enjoy this week.
The pictures above and below are of two more of my grandchildren as they started school this year. They are both beginning college and new chapter in their lives.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6287. for the right to vote
6288. for a day to relax
6289. for the class of 2022
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised one, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing . They come to the door of memory.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

This time of year tends to get very busy for many, but I'm hope you all can relax and refresh today.

Good afternoon! I have a bit sketchy Internet in the country so I have missed a few posts from you! Grandchildren going off to college now! Wow! I hope I live long enough to see that for all of mine. Although, Amber and I was talking about college for the quads the other day. I can't even imagine how much $$ it will be. But they intend to have the kids work and save for their own education just as they did for theirs and they will pitch in and help them - but not foot the bill entirely. I heard of a parent who says they pay for the first and last year of college. It is a new chapter of life - that's for sure!!
I explained this to my class at our homeschool co-op by telling the students that when my grandma was born in 1917 women could not vote in America. I hoped to bring it home to them. It's not that far in the past.
I love the optimism of your blogs! Totally following.
So blessed! I can't fathom how it must have felt, being unable to share my voice, my vote.
Your granddaughter's new dorm looks lovely, indeed. And her expression? ... how she exudes confidence and joy at this new chapter in her life.
You have quite a few Grandchildren Pam! They all look so happy! How wonderful that these two are starting college! Wow! You don't look old enough to have college age Grands! I cannot comprehend a world where women had no rights Pam, but I know it was that way and is still that way for many! I think as Westerners we take far too much for granted! Love and hugs and happy week to you! xoxo
Happy Back to School. Congratulations. 😀🎓🎒📚
