ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Aviation Day which honors the birthday of Orville Wright, August 19th, 1871. The Wright bothers, Orville and Wilbur were pioneer aviators in the United States. Orville was the first person to successfully fly an airplane. His inaugural flight, December 17th, 1903 at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, was soon to change the skies forever.
National Aviation Day also honors early aviation and space pioneers.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You haven’t seen a tree until you’ve seen its shadow from the sky.
Amelia Earhart
While I’m not a frequent flier I do appreciate being able to fly. It saves a lot of travel time when you’ve got a far distance to go. My children have been the only reason I’ve ever flown. Some do live a far distance away. It’s a strange thing that although I usually don’t do well at heights, I’ve never had a fear of flying in an airplane. I love to look out the window and see the landscape below and I also like being able to rise above a cloudy day and see the sunshine.
Todays traveling experience will not be far away enough to fly, but still I’ll winging the way on the Ohio turnpike to get to DS#6’s house for a party to celebrate our little Precious One’s 4th birthday. She has been quick to remind me that she is now 4 at every chance she’s had. Today’s picture are of her and definitely my favorite to date. I’ve shown them before but think they are worth repeating.
DD is providing the transportation for today’s ride and I’m very thankful for that. I now no longer drive when it takes over an hour to get somewhere. I figure it’s better safe than sorry, for me and for others too.
After all the rain we’ve had this week, it’s to be a sunny day with temps right around 80 degrees. Sounds like a great day to celebrate !
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
God’s gifts put man’s best dreams to shame.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6266. for a sunny day for a party
6267. for our great aviators and airplanes
6268. for places to go, thanks to my children
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.

Sunshine on my shoulders always makes me smile !
Have a great time at the party celebrating the little one's 4th birthday! I'm a reluctant flier and will be flying at the end of the month. I'll have to adopt your attitude of enjoying looking out the window etc. at the clouds. Usually I try to avoid that, LOL :)
betty
No wonder these photos of your little grand-girl are favorites! The first one looks like a Hallmark moment. :)
Like you, for years I only flew out of necessity to visit family members. But unlike you, I was always a 'white-knuckler.' Not sure why, but I'm glad those days are behind me.
Hope the birthday party was great fun!
Oh I do hope you had a lovely time at your Granddaughter’s birthday! What cute wee thing she is! What a blessing that you get to spend time with your family like you do! I love your quote from Elizabeth Barrett Browning! As I have gotten older I have found flying more and more stressful, not the actual flight but the trip to the airport, checking in etc. Missed connections due to airport delays etc. Mind you I hade driving also. I prefer train travel, so long as itsdirect! Xoxo
Happy Birthday 🎂🎈😃
