ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Radio Day which celebrates a great invention and communications medium
The invention of the raid dates back to the late 1800’s. A number of inventions and discovers were required to make the radio a reality. This included both the transmission and reception methods and technology. It everlved from he telegraph and the telephone, with wireless telegraph directly contributing to its invention.
Celebration National Radio Day is easy listening. Simply tune into your favorite radio station.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Radio is the theater of the mind.
Steve Allen
I listen to my radio every morning. I listen to the daily news and get the weather report. It’s a habit for me to turn it on when I wake up. Unlike the TV stations that cost money to watch, the radio is still free. Their broadcasting is paid for by advertising. I say TV costs money to watch because here we need a Satellite connection to get it. No outdoor antennas are allowed and Cable TV is not an option either. Due to the trees surrounding my house, I couldn’t get the direct TV so what TV I have is streamed in by the internet and of course that costs money.
So today I’m celebrating the radio which doesn’t cost anything yet provides information and entertainment.
We had a great day yesterday at the party for our little Precious One and would like to say Thank You to DS#6 and his wife for a wonderful afternoon at their house and of course a thank you also goes to DD for giving me a ride. The pictures today are from the party.
Today is the beginning of a new week and there is much to do. Even though there is only one of me here, there is still the daily housekeeping, weekly yard work and perhaps some crafting to be done. I shouldn’t need to do any shopping anyway, as the pantry and cupboards are full. I made up a pot of beef stew on Saturday and that will see me through as far as meals for at least another day or two. I used the new potatoes, carrots and onions that I got at the Farmers Market to make the stew and it’s delicious.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!

A Sunday well spent, brings a week of content!
Yes, the radio can be a great companion. I still remember coming home from junior high and sitting on the floor in front of my parent's cabinet/radio to listen and do my homework.
Where we're at here in Alabama there is no available cable - just DISH (and Direct TV). And yes, every time a thunder-cloud passes overhead the signal's lost.
These photos as delightful! So glad the party was a hit!
Party looks like a lot of fun!
Your stew you made sounds delicious too! I'm looking forward to making a crock pot of it down the road.
Hubby listens to a lot of radio when he is driving to and from work. Mainly for the traffic updates, but he is well informed with what is going on in the world of news, LOL, so its almost like I don't have to watch or listen to any of it myself :)
betty
I only listen to the radio when I'm in the car. Otherwise my TV is always on. Maybe I should do something about that. Your stew sounds very good. I am ready to make a pot of that myself.
Love the pictures of your Granddaughters Birthday Pam! I love the radio! My childhood was filled with daysthat began with listening to the radio while we ate our breKfasts and got ready for school. I used to love listening to Art Linkletteron the radio, and other programs. There is something very cosy about listening to the radio! Thanks for reminding me of some happy memories! Xoxo
