Today is Santa's List Day. Have you been good all year? Have you been Naughty? Or, have you been nice? Santa knows.
Santa's Elves have been everywhere, checking up on children all over the world, to see who has been naughty, and who has been nice. Thanks to the hard work of his elves, Santa Claus has two lists. The short list contains the names of a few children who have been naughty. A much longer list is filled with the names of children who have been good all year long.
Which list are you on?
Kids..... make sure to be especially good around the holidays. That's when parents need children to be on their best behavior, as they are busy preparing for the holidays.
Happy Santa's List Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Oh, he's making a list and checking it twice. He's gonna find out who's naughty or nice. Santa Claus is coming to town!
Quite a few of my grandchildren have an Elf that sits on a shelf and who reports back to Santa at their homes. I also have an elf here at my house and He sings, ♥ ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪ Have a holly, jolly Christmas; It's the best time of the year.¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪ If he’s reporting back to Santa, I’ll probably be on the naughty list. Ha!
It’s a very different Christmas here at my house this year. Still I’m trying to remember the wise words of the Grinch:
It came without ribbons! It came without tags! It came without packages, boxes or bags!... Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! … Maybe Christmas... perhaps... means a little bit more!
Dr. Seuss
Yes, it is nice to get gifts at Christmas, and I hope you are all on the NICE list for sure, but try to keep the reason for the season in your hearts as well. Jesus was born on Christmas Day. God’s greatest gift to you and me.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Cookie Day !
Cookies are sweet and full of all sorts of delicious goodness, from nuts to fruit to chocolate. They can be either delightfully crumbly or sinfully chewy. Not to mention that they keep forever if they are stored properly… There’s no doubt about it, cookies more than deserve their own day.
Peanut Butter Cookies
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
1 1/4 flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Mix sugars, peanut butter, shortening, butter and egg in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate about 2 hours or until firm.
Heat oven to 375ºF. Shape dough into 1 1/4 inch balls. Place about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Flatten in crisscross pattern with fork dipped into sugar.
Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 5 minutes; remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.
COUNTING MY GIFTS

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU !

I can't imagine you on the naughty list, Ma :) Those elves on the shelf are so cute and the kids really do enjoy playing the game of it :) Fun way to wait until Christmas morning for sure :) I was talking to a clerk at one of the stores yesterday who said she makes 70 dozen cookies a year for Christmas. I can't imagine all those cookies, can you?
betty
I love that you've an Elf-on-the-Shelf of your very own! I bought one a few years ago and thought it would be cute to start our own edition ... then my practical side kicked in we gave it to Tom's grandkids.
'Gonna find out who's naughty or nice ...'!
The last few days, when about 4AM I gather Macie and Gracie together to sing and cuddle (after they've been out to piddle), I've added that one to 'Jesus Loves Me.' I'm a rotten singer, but they're too polite to say anything - LOL.
I would have loved to have an elf on the shelf for my kids. We don't do it here for the grands. I want to start baking cookies. I say that every year. This year I really, really want to.
