The birthday cards went out in the mail to both of these dear ones with my birthday wishes for both of them.  Each of them lives just far enough away that I won’t get to spend any time with either of them today.  The picture in the heart frame was taken on our Princess’ first birthday and DS#6’s 21st!  

What a cold, cold week this has been, but life goes on no matter the weather.  I’m fortunate that I really don’t have to be out in it much at all.  I get to choose what I want to do these days as I’m retired but that wasn’t always the case.

When I was younger the weather didn’t really bother me much at all.  For the most part I walked to school every day and didn’t have far to go, but being cold wasn’t something I dreaded.  When I had to go to work after I got older, the greatest worry was road conditions, but usually the roads were plowed and salted. We never got days off because of the weather.

Keep warm and cozy today where ever you go.
