53 DAYS UNTIL SPRING

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Spouse's Day is celebrated on January 26, 2016. It is a day to enjoy and appreciate your better half. Spouse's Day is a good reminder to show that special person in your life just how much you care and appreciate him or her. While gifts are always nice, the best and the most meaningful gift is the gift of time. Spend some quality time with your partner. It is a time to show your spouse that you care and appreciate all the things that they do for you and your family on a day to day basis.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.
Mignon McLaughlin
Even though I’m a widow now I’m very thankful to have had a wonderful husband. It’s been 24 years now since he passed away from a sudden heart attack, but he’ll never be forgotten. He was a good man and a great father.
When my children were growing up our family ate together at the dinning room table every night; there was never a television on and this was long before cell phones, so we actually talked to each other. I hope you all can do the same. Great memories are made of this !
It’s good to create memories by doing things together and focus on the bond that grows out of sharing the the good times. These memories help when times are tough. You can remember and be thankful too.
We would have been married for 50 years if he had lived. As it was we had 27 wonderful years together. Treasure your spouse today and always. Show them they are appreciated. And if like me, you no longer have one, think fondly of the good times of days gone by.
We’re to have a 40 degree day today and for the most part now our snow is a thing of the past for now. Never fear though, there will be more to come. It’s a great day to make some wonderful memories !
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
A happy marriage is a long conversation which always seems too short.
Andre Marois
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3532. for our spouses, I have great memories of mine
3533. for the dining room table, a place where great memories are made
3534. for the good times, they help us get through the tough times
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Success in marriage does not come merely through finding the right mate, but through being the right mate.
Barnett R. Brickner
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I think having dinner around the table and not listening to TV or other devices is almost becoming a lost art. We always would have dinner at the table, except if hubby was out of town and then I would let the kids eat in front of the TV, but that didn't happen often. Families need that connecting time with each other, but lots of families don't see that need. Its amazing going out to eat to watch families and seeing the kids on their tablets or phones while they are eating. Makes me sad looking at them.

I know you miss your husband terribly!! Sounds like you have many wonderful memories of him and your children growing up! I'm so thankful for my hubby as well. It's nice here. We are 51° at the moment. We do have rain coming in tonight. Have a blessed day!!
I'm so sorry for the loss of your husband, MA... my dad died in 1969... he and my mom were 55. I can't imagine being widowed so very young, though to me, of course, at the time ... I was 19 and it seemed so very old. My mom never forgot him.
I love your first quote Pam. Loving a spouse does require falling in love with them many times. It sounds as if your husband was a really great man. I am glad that you were blessed enough to have found the right one first time around! I am sure you really miss him. I would surely miss my Todd if he were to pass on before me. He is my life. ((((hugs)))) God bless you. xoxo
