Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Martin Luther King Day. It is a federal holiday held on the third Monday of January. It celebrates the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr., an influential American civil rights leader. He is most well known for his campaigns for racial equality in the United States.
Nonessential Government departments will closed today, as will many corporations, schools, and banks. For many it’s a 3 day weekend.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
Martin Luther King
Not everyone has the courage to stand up for what is right and do something about it like Martin Luther King Jr did. He
was courageous and made a difference in a lot of folks lives.
We can all make a difference by the way we treat others. The golden rule, to treat others as you would like to be treated, is one to always remember and follow.
A little smile or a pat on the back can do a lot to give others the encouragement they need to make through a tough day. You never know what others might be going through.
We need to love one another the best way we can.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Do small things, with great love.
Mother Teresa
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3508. for Martin Luther King Jr., he made a great difference in others lives
3509. for loving kindness , always a good thing
3510. for a new day, another chance to get it right
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.
Barbara de Angelis
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

It is a three day weekend for many of the schools and of course the banks and government offices here. In San Diego they would have a parade to honor Martin Luther King; not sure they do one here; haven't heard it advertised. He indeed was courageous to take the stand that he did!
