60 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Sunrise: 7:51 am
Sunset: 5:28 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
It’s National Popcorn Day! Americans eat about 16 billion quarts of popcorn each year. That’s about 51 quarts per person, which makes it one of the most popular snacks in the country. It is also one of the oldest. To celebrate National Popcorn Day, make your favorite kind of popcorn and enjoy it while watching a movie with your friends!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Friendship is, the popcorn in the cinema of life.
Movies and popcorn do always seem to go together. It’s a favorite snack here at my house. I used to make microwave popcorn a lot but have found that nothing beats the taste it has when it’s popped in a pan on the stove. I heat one tablespoon oil in the bottom of a pan, let it heat on medium, drop in a few kernels of corn and when one pops add 1/2 cup popcorn, then put the lid on the pan and shake it around. When the popping ceases you know it’s done and quickly remove from the heat. So simple, but so good. Of course I use salt and butter too but if you are watching your diet, it is still good without it. Air popped popcorn is naturally high in dietary fiber and antioxidants, low in calories and fat, and free of sugar and sodium.
This week looks like it will be anther cold one here. I’ve been sorting out and putting things in some semblance of order. For the like of me, I don’t know just how one person can make such a mess. There’s no one here but me, so I am the one responsible. It’s nice that these winter days give me plenty of time to do things, but I am so looking forward to Spring when I can get outdoors.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Of course life is bizarre, the more bizarre it gets, the more interesting it is. The only way to approach it is to make yourself some popcorn and enjoy the show.

Popcorn is such a great snack! Hubby usually buys the microwave kind or the ones already popped in the bag with the cheese flavor. Its easy to get engrossed in a good movie and a big bowl of popcorn :)
betty
I love the old-school popcorn, popped on the stove. Once upon a time I had a special pot with a crank on top that kept the kernels moving and not scorching!
One of my favorite snacks: butter and salt is my favorite.
Did you know that the Japanese eat it with soy sauce on top?
And the Germans have it with sugar!
Happy Popcorn Day!!
I'm eating popcorn and watching a movie now on a rainy day... 😃
Friendship is, the popcorn in the cinema of life. I love that Pam! I love popcorn too. They have so many flavours over here, each one more delicious than the last, but I love popcorn made the old fashioned way most of all! You can't beat it. Although these days I do cut back on the butter and salt. Many happy memories of watching the magic of Jiffy Pop when I was much younger! Have a great Wednesday! xoxo
