Life is a Special Occasion!

Today we celebrate Holy Thursday, also known as Maundy Thursday. Holy Thursday is the commemoration of the Last Supper that Jesus celebrated with the Disciples and thereby instituted the Lord’s Supper, also called Communion. He also washed the disciples’ feet as an act of humility and service, thereby setting an example that we should love one another, just as Christ has loved us.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
John 13:34
Love. love and love some more is what this day is all about. Loving others because we are loved, putting others first as Jesus put others before himself . His love extends to all of us, equally, no matter who we are or how we have lived our lives. We all know how difficult it is to like some people let alone love them but as hard as it is, it is what we are called to do. Today we remember and celebrate how he loved us.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always me first,
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
Love never dies.
I Corinthians 13: 4-8, The Message Bible
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The one thing we can never get enough of is love. And the one thing we never give enough is love.
Henry Miller
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for a little over a year and have now reached 1500 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1586. for the gift of love, it not only makes the world go round, it makes the ride worthwhile
1587. for those that love unconditionally
1588. for holy days that remind us what life is all about
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
The cure for all the ills and wrongs, the cares, the sorrows, and crimes of humanity, all lie in that one word 'love.’ It is the divine vitality that produces and restores life. To each and every one of us it gives the power of working miracles, if we will.
Lydia M. Child
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

I love this interpretation of 1 Corinthians! Have a blessed Easter!
As Jesus loved and served is how we should love and serve :)
It always does come back to love, to love completely and uconditionally, like Jesus did.
Now living like that can be challenging, but not impossible if we keep our eyes focused on Him.
