Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Earth Day is observed on April 22. It was first celebrated in 1970 in the United States, and inspired national legislation such as the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts. Earth Day is designed to promote ecology, encourage respect for life on earth, and highlight concern over pollution of the soil, air, and water.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
For the Beauty of the Earth
Folliott S. Pierpoint
For the beauty of the earth,
for the beauty of the skies,
for the love which from our birth
over and around us lies,
Refrain::
Christ our Lord, to Thee we raise
this our sacrifice of praise.
I do love the beauty that is all around us and even though I may not get around a lot any more there is always something beautiful to see every day. The sunrise every morning delights me. I’m so glad to have a window right near where I sit most mornings where I can see outside.
We now have lots and lots of daffodils popping up and blooming. There are also tulips ready to bud and bloom but they are still holding out on showing their colors. It’ll be a surprise to see just what color they all are. The pictures today are from last Saturday outside my house.
I’m thinking we may have some rain today. I wanted to go out and get a car wash to get the dirty winter grime and salt off the little Red Hen, a name I’ve fondly given my little red car, but that my just have to wait until tomorrow.
Here’s hoping you all have a terrific Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
For the beauty of each hour
of the day and of the night,
hill and vale, and tree and flower,
sun and moon, and stars of light
Christ our Lord, to Thee we raise
this our sacrifice of praise.
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for a little over a year and have now reached 1600 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1601. for daffodils and tulips that bring a world of color close to my door
1602. for automated car washes that save me a lot of work
1603. for warmer weather and sunshine giving me wonderful days to spend outdoors
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
For each perfect gift of thine
to our race so freely given,
graces human and divine,
flowers of earth and buds of heaven
Christ our Lord, to Thee we raise
this our sacrifice of praise.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Should be really pretty once the tulips start to bloom! I think their colors can be so vibrant! I like your nickname for your car, Ma, how cute. Hopefully soon it can get its own spring cleaning :)
betty
My daffodils and tulips have bloomed and are all gone already a month ago now... It's only 72 here today, windy and clouds are rolling in for possible rain on Friday....
Happy Earth Day!! :)
One of my favorite hymns in your post today.. it was featured in the remake of Little Women with Winona Ryder, my FAVORITE Little Women, much more so than the Katherine Hepburn one. Love that hymn, love that movie.
