THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an eggs and ham breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'.
Once again I'm showing you that every day there is something to celebrate! I’m sure you all have made Pigs In a Blanket at one time or another, but in case you haven’t here is the recipe that I like to follow.
Crescent rolls update the popular 'pig in blanket' concept, along with a yummy surprise: melted cheese in each frank.
8 hot dogs
4 slices American cheese, each cut into 6 strips
1 can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
Heat oven to 375°F. Slit hot dogs to within 1/2 inch of ends; insert 3 strips of cheese into each slit. Separate dough into triangles. Wrap dough triangle around each hot dog. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, cheese side up. Bake at 375°F. for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
One thing about having your hot dogs made like this is you don’t require a bun. It’s already there. Another great way to make a Pig In A Blanket is to fry up a sausage and wrap a pancake around it.
Sometimes I think that I’m the PIG. There is nothing much really that I don’t like to eat and I love food most any way you fix it. I like to cook when I have someone else to feed besides myself. But when I’m alone I really only cook about once a week. Leftovers are great and so are sandwiches. Popcorn and cereal are sometimes a good meal substitute too.
Today is supposed to be a little warmer here for us, in the upper 50’s they say and I’m hoping to get back outside for a little more yard work, in the back yard this time. The front still needs a little more TLC but that will wait until another day. At least the big flower bed there is cleaned up for now.
Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
For health and food, for love and friends, For everything Thy goodness sends.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for a little over a year and have now reached 1600 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1607. for hot dogs any way you fix them!
1608. for cheese it is good just about any way you use it
1609. for crescent rolls and all the wonderful ways to use them.

Those pig in the blankets look delicious! I remember making them when the kids were at home; always so tasty! I too enjoy eating, Ma, (and that's why I'm 30 pounds overweight :)
Good to hear the weather is holding a bit so you can get some outside work done!
