Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today we celebrate Palm Sunday. In church and in our homes today we’ll commemorate Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, with palms and hymns, representing the entrance of Christ into Jerusalem, when palm branches were placed in His path, before His arrest on Holy Thursday and His Crucifixion on Good Friday.
We traditionally decorate our houses with the palms from Palm Sunday, and, in many countries, a custom developed of weaving the palms into crosses that were placed on home altars or other places of prayer.
This is the sixth and last Sunday of Lent and beginning of Holy Week

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Sundays, quiet islands on the tossing seas of life.
S.W. Duffield
Just as the the crowd greeted Jesus as the one who would fulfill their desires, many of us have had similar expectations of Jesus. This continues to our day. We focus on Jesus as a triumphant over all. We have a powerful Jesus who can come into our lives and make a triumphal mark.
I know that many of us are happy to see Lent come to an end and look forward to celebrating Easter with joy. I’ve been doing a Lenten meditation on my blog, What’s New at My House, since lent began and for me it’s been a time that has opened my eyes to a lot of things that I rarely take the time to think about. It’s been difficult in many ways to see all the areas in my life that need improvement. So for that reason I’m going to be especially grateful to see Easter come this year.
It’s been a busy weekend here at my house. Today the last of my company will return home. Yesterday’s get together was wonderful and I give a big shout out to DS#5 and his wife for the wonderful job they did hosting our family celebration! Thanks to them we were all able to enjoy a wonderful day together.
I hope you all have a relaxing and wonderful Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Sunday is the core of our civilization, dedicated to thought and reverence.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for a little over a year and have now reached 1500 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1574. for DS#5 and his wife for hosting yesterday’ family celebration
1575. for palms which remind us of the triumphant King of Glory
1576. for a day to relax and renew
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
Sunday clears away the rust of the whole week.

What a great Palm Sunday post!
I remember getting palm branches when I was growing up and us having them in the house from year to year. I'm glad the Easter celebration went great with your family. I have enjoyed your Lenten postings on your other blog Ma, they have all been insightful.
