Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Biological Clock Day. It’s a day to celebrate whatever age you are, or whatever life stage you are in. Today is a good day to consider whether or not our clock is still ticking or has the alarm gone off.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
There is a wisdom in the body that is older and more reliable than clocks and calendars.
John Harold Johnson
All living organisms have an internal biological clock, called the Circadian Rhythm, which helps their bodies adapt to the daily cycle of day and night as the Earth rotates.
Sleep is essential to our mental and physical health. Our inner clocks normally keep us awake during the day and asleep at night. But sunlight, air travel and even the seasons can disrupt our Circadian Rhythms and the quality and quantity of sleep that we get. It’s because so many people spend their days indoors and their nights bathed in the glow of electric lights, the body's clock can get out of sync.
My body does have it’s own clock that seems to be relative to the amount of daylight hours we have. I hibernate all winter long and sleep a lot. When Spring comes along with longer days, I am much more awake. Thanks to the fact that I’m now retired I can allow myself go to bed when night falls and wake up in the morning when the daylight hits my face.
It’s no wonder we are disgruntled by waking up by an alarm clock when it seems like the middle of the night, but we need to get up to go off to work. Sometimes we can reset the clock a little by going to bed earlier, a lesson I learned early on when I had to start work very early in the morning.
The trick is to finding the right balance.
The pictures today were taken one year ago when I was visiting at DS#4’s house.
It’s Monday morning again and for many it means letting that alarm wake you up so you can go off to work. Whether or not that is the case, I hope you all have a great day !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
You can't turn back the clock. But you can wind it up again.
Bonnie Prudden
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached 1600 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1619. for my inner clock, which is still ticking
1620. for time to do what I want and when I want to
1621. for a good sleep every night, it does make a difference.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
Be pleasant until ten o'clock in the morning and the rest of the day will take care of itself.
Elbert Hubbard
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

What a cute dog! So true about our circadian rhythms; I know I do better with sleep if I get to bed before a certain time, sadly a lot of nights I don't, LOL, (too much playing on the computer :)
I like how our mornings are getting lighter, soon I'll be hearing the early birds chirping at around 5:30 a.m.

Love the pooch, he looks very content. Those are Todd's favourite kind of dogs.
I find air travel very disruptive to my body clock and I also hate the time changes in the spring and autumn. I find that as I get older, I like to have quiet evenings. Anything out of the ordinary, even a telephone call, throws me off and I often cannot sleep at all afterwards. I wish it were not so! Like Betty I love to listen to the birds waking up in the morning! xx
