THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You don't get harmony when everybody sings the same note.
Doug Floyd
It is wonderful to hear beautiful voices harmonizing together when they sing. One of my favorite memories is of the people harmonizing the hymns they sang, without music, at my grandmothers’s church when I was a child. Their voices made the music, nothing else was needed for sure.
To live in harmony is a great thing too. Balancing everything out in our lives isn’t easy at all though. It’s something that takes a great deal of work. Harmony means seeking peace and living a life without hostility or bitterness. To live with ourselves and others in peaceful ways. Harmony makes small things grow, lack of it makes great things decay. Pride has been found to be the greatest enemy of harmony.
While we cannot control all of the outcomes we seek in life, we certainly can control our responses to these outcomes and herein lies our potential for a life that is both happy and fulfilled. Live life in harmony and balance. Avoid excesses. Even the good things, pursued or attained without moderation, can become a source of misery and suffering.
Remember that money is a necessary but not a sufficient condition for the good life, for happiness and wisdom. Our grass is starting to turn green again. What a wonderful sight !
I hope you all have a fantastic Friday filled with harmony and peace!
Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in at a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen.
Leonardo DiVinci
O Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace!
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is discord, harmony.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sorrow, joy.
Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not
so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
The Peace Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance and order and rhythm and harmony.
Thomas Merton
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for a little over a year and have now reached 1500 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a person and life they lead.
Albert Camus
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Yay for green grass!! Happy Friday! :)
St. Francis' prayer is one of my favorites... how nice to see it here today!
I like the analogy of harmonizing with music and also having harmony in our relationships; certainly sounds a lot better when a song is sung in harmony and definitely life is a lot easier when ones in a family are in harmony.
