ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
APRIL 2nd, 2011
If you can't see the bright side of life, polish the dull side
It's SATURDAY!
RECONCILIATION DAY
Reconciliation Day is a special day to patch relationships and to make amends. It's intention is to re-establish relationships between family, friends and couples. Life is too short to hold a grudge between those we love.
Estranged couples may find today to be an opportunity to work out their problems. People who have had a falling out with family members are encouraged to reach out and mend the fence.
For those considering a reconciliation, the old saying is It's never too late. But, that is not true. Someday, it could be too late. So, please use today to begin your reconciliation.
THINKING
The journey of life is easier because of God's light shining through friends and family.
Today: Pray for all those that light our path and illumine our lives
Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:32
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
It's National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day
National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day celebrates the PB and J sandwich. Its the favorite lunchtime sandwich of American kids, and many adults, too. Some kids practically live on Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches.
Creamy, rich peanut butter smacked together with sweet, ooey-gooey jelly. It’s a one-of-a-kind combination that’s certainly become an everlasting hit in America. According to the National Peanut Board, the average child will consume 1,500 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches by the time he/she graduates from high school. Now that’s a lot of PB&J’s. Unless you suffer from Arachibutyrophobia, the fear of getting peanut butter stuck to the roof of your mouth, or have a peanut allergy, more than likely you’ve eaten at least one PB&J in your life.
There are tons of fun and delicious ways to vary a PB&J!
For starters, you could vary the nut. Try almond butter, or sunflower seed butter, or everyone’s favorite, chocolate hazelnut Nutella. Maybe you swap out the jelly for marmalade, bananas, or thinly sliced apples. Or you could swap out the bread, and use rice cakes for a light snack. Or try crackers, or whole grain waffles. There are tons of ways to spruce up the classic PB&J, so take your pick this Saturday and join the National Peanut Butter and Jelly celebration.
PRAYERS
God of life, thank you for the rain this April. As You nourish and cleanse the earth this spring, nourish and cleanse us also, that we might seek a deeper knowledge and love of You in all we do. Bless and keep us and all who glorify Your name!
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
Today is also International Children's Book Day, marking Hans Christian Anderson's birthday AND Today is National Love Our Children Day, a day to honor children and strengthen families.
Keeping our Children safe and strengthening our family life is what this day is all about. I think that when you take the time to read a book to a child, it gives them a sense of just how much they mean to you. The two really do go together.
Yesterday DD came over with her steam cleaner and cleaned the living room furniture and my kitchen rug for me. It all looks so nice. A big THANK YOU daughter! I sure appreciate the help she's been giving me. I think that now my downstairs is all finished. It's newly painted, nicely decorated and clean from top to bottom.
I still haven't found my postage stamps, my camera or my desk stapler and note pad that was here before the painting party. I sure did put it all someplace safe.
Have a great Saturday everyone!
COUNTING THE DAYS

Patching relationships "can work" too. Sometimes you don't even know they need patching til one day you find out. Best to nourish as you go along and never take anything for granted. Just giving my own advice and attaching to yours. lol
I'm so happy for you that your camping days are almost here! 16 days! Cool. Looking forward to seeing pics and hearing about it. I know you are excited.
