Old Stuff Day

Same stuff, different day. If you find that you've grown bored with your routine, today's the time to shake things up. And we don't mean having cereal instead of toast in the morning. We mean real change. Learn to play the tambourine. Start growing your own vegetables. Do something, anything, different. You will be glad that you did!

Today is also Dr. Seuss Day. Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on March 2, 1904, in Springfield, Massachusetts. Theodor Geisel, a.k.a. Dr. Seuss, would say. Children want the same things we want. To laugh, to be challenged, to be entertained and delighted. The National Education Agency sponsors Read Across America Day on Dr. Seuss's birthday. Every child should read a book today

NEW IN THE KITCHEN

March 2nd is National Banana Creme Pie Day

Impossible Banana Creme Pie

1 cup milk
1/2 cup Bisquick baking mix
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter
2 bananas, medium, sliced
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup chilled whipping cream
2 Tablespoons powdered sugar

Preheat to 350 degrees F.

Grease a 9 inch pie plate.

Beat milk, butter, vanilla, eggs, granulated sugar and Bisquick until smooth, 30 seconds in blender on high or 1 minute with a hand beater.

Pour into plate. Bake until knife inserted in the center comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Cool completely.

Arrange bananas slices on pie.

Beat whipping cream and powdered sugar in chilled bowl until stiff; spread over the top of pie.

Lord, we often struggle in taking time to fellowship with You and read Your Word. We know that spending time with You is not a law, it is a privilege. Help us to get every morning started right.

Dr. Seuss- Oh, the Places You'll Go

Yesterday I had a very nice call from DS#4. He was on line arranging for me to visit them in May. His oldest son, my SUNSHINE BOY, is making his first communion this year and he wanted to make sure I would be able to be there. So come the middle of May I'll be making a little trip. Just a long weekend but still it will be so grand to be able to share this special time with them all. I don't get to always be at all the celebrations in my family because some of them are so far away and I'm thankful that at least for this one I can be there.

Our Angel will be making her first communion also this year but they are a little closer to home and I'll be able to be at her special celebration too. Thankfully they were scheduled on different weekends so I could be at both of them. One closer, one further away, both so special.

I'm so very thankful for my family.
