ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
March 6TH, 2011
If you can't see the bright side of life, polish the dull side
It's SUNDAY!
Today is Fasching Sunday in Germany and Austria, the last Sunday before Lent. The carnival season has different names in Germany: The carnival season in and around Munich is named Fasching.
During the Fasching main season from January 7 to March 8 this year more than 700 balls will be held in Munich. The biggest ones are parties with thousands of people. Most of them are fancy dress balls, but there are also classical gala balls in dinner jacket and evening dress
Shrovetide is the English equivalent of what is known in the greater part of Southern Europe as the Carnival which marks the beginning of Lent. The English custom of eating pancakes was undoubtedly suggested by the need of using up the eggs and fat which were, originally at least, prohibited articles of diet during the forty days of Lent
Pancake Week, Words Matter Week, Read an E-Book Week, Teen Tech Week, Save Your Vision Week, Return the Borrowed Books Week, Carnival Week, Words Matter Week, Celebrate Your Name Week, and Consumer Protection Week all begin today.
THINKING
A morning-glory at my window satisfies me more than the metaphysics of books
Walt Whitman
Today: No matter what the weather, spend a little time observing something amazing in nature.
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Today is National White Chocolate Cheesecake Day. Not just 'cheesecake,' but that particular variety with the refined taste of white chocolate!

PRAYERS
God, it is so easy to offer judgment instead of grace. Help us today to see others through your eyes, be quick to understand and quick to offer grace, instead of rushing to judgment
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
We belong someplace. The day we are given a name we are also given a place which no one but we can fill.

This week is Celebrate Your Name Week and today we are celebrating a very special day for someone named our Mr. Wonderful. Our names are a part of our lives from the time we are born. They identify us to the world as we make our way through life. Our names eventually become as much a part of us as the color of our eyes or the shape of our noses
Lord, bless this child with goodness, lead him in Your light each day; Let him walk the path You've chosen, guide his steps along the way . Teach him to trust your wisdom and obey Your loving plan; Keep him from all harm, and protect him as he grows to be a man
Enjoy your special day Mr. Wonderful!
Opps! I almost forgot to post my March 1st memory verse for you and here it is:
Judges 5:21 March on, my soul; be strong!
COUNTING THE DAYS
We all need to smile and laugh a little more each day. After all, it has been proven to help us be healthy both spiritually and physically
14 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
43 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
ma
