ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
March 20TH, 2011
If you can't see the bright side of life, polish the dull side
It's SUNDAY!
Today is THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING!
Spring begins today at 7:21 p.m. EDT in the Northern Hemisphere; autumn begins in the Southern Hemisphere. Day and night are virtually equal.
Spring reawakens the soul to the wonder and expectation of life. Make today a celebration of miraculous changes, growth, and endless possibilities. We each have the promise of Spring in our hearts.
National Spring Fever Week also begins today
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
IT'S NATIONAL RAVIOLI DAY
If you're like many people, you enjoy ravioli, but when ordering at an Italian restaurant, it's always the spaghetti, linguine, lasagna, or even pizza that come to mind first.
Try your hand at filling and cooking ravioli at home. Maybe you'll discover a new favorite Italian food!
Slow Cooker Ravioli with Sausage and Peppers
25 ounces package frozen cheese-filled ravioli
2 cups frozen bell pepper and onion stir-fry
1 jar (26 ounce) chunky spaghetti sauce
8 ounces smoked sausage, sliced
1/4 cup shredded fresh parmesan cheese
In 3 1/2 to 4 quart slow cooker, combine all ingredients except Parmesan cheese; mix well.
Cover; cook on low setting for 5 to 6 hours.
Sprinkle individual servings with cheese.
THINKING
It is not only fine feathers that make fine birds.
Aesop, from The Jay and the Peacock
Today: Refrain from unnecessary clothing purchases for the remainder of Lent
PRAYERS
Dear Lord, help us to release our anxieties to you. In gratitude we place our lives in your loving care
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
Every spring is the only spring, a perpetual astonishment
Ellis Peters
The amazing fact that Spring does get here every year is something to celebrate. It'll be awhile yet before we see flowers blooming and trees with leaves instead of bare branches but it will come.
I'm off to church this morning and then will be doing little else as today is my day of rest. After our busy Saturday, I need it and I imagine my helpers do too. I'm very thankful and appreciative for all they did. Not only did they paint the 2 rooms they also tore out the old carpet and cleaned the hardwood floors in them too.
Happy First Day of Spring Everyone!

A bit of love from someone near…

I could enlist my family like that. Of course, they would want fried chicken. But good for you, the work is done and now some rest today. Happy Sunday.
Happy Spring to you!! It's a favorite time of the year for me, and is quite evident here. Hope you've had a restful day!
