ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
OCTOBER14TH, 2010
If you can't see the bright side of life, polish the dull side
It's WEDNESDAY
!
Today is POOH BEAR Day.
The classic A.A. Milne book, Winnie the Pooh, made its debut on this day in 1926. Alan Alexander Milne wrote this and other delightful Winnie-the-Pooh stories, centering the tales around his little son, Christopher Robin, and Christopher’s stuffed animals, like the honey-loving Pooh Bear, Eeyore (the donkey), Piglet and Tigger, too.
Well, said Pooh, what I like best, and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called
A.A. Milne
THINKING
Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. Pooh! he whispered. Yes, Piglet? Nothing, said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. I just wanted to be sure of you.
A.A. Milne
The story of the Chilean miners has given great hope to many people. Their story of their rescue reminds us that in the depths of our darkness we need to keep going and that light, hope and new beginnings will always triumph
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future
Jeremiah 29:11
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
General Mills makes Corn Chex, Rice Chex etc. If the Post company bought these brands, then I have a new product for them. Take some Wheat Chex, add pieces of fresh dates and a little cinnamon and sugar, and voila!

IT'S NATIONAL DESSERT DAY
Pig out on desserts today. But whatever you do -- do not forget the other major food groups! At least have a
glass of milk
PRAYERS
Lord, find me when I run from You…Carry me when I look to You…Lift me as I draw from You!
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
A bear, however hard he tries, grows tubby without exercise
A.A. Milne
The shorter days and longer nights will mean less exercise for me. When the weather turns cold, I spend way too much time indoors. This will be my first winter at home all the time so we'll see if I put on weight or not. There will be much to be done here at my house so I'm hoping the activity helps.
In the news they warned of yet another Facebook virus. Do not open any emails saying you have been tagged for a picture. This virus can steal your identity and that of your friends enabling them to wipe out your bank accounts.
It is best never to open emails where you don't know who the sender is.
FAMILY
Promise me you'll never forget me because if I
thought you would I'd never leave
A.A. Milne
Even though camping season is ending, I do have the holidays to look forward to and a few days of babysitting are ahead for me too. It won't be long now and our family will gather again. I so look forward to the times they are together. Well, together as much as possible anyway. Having my family all in one place at one time is quite a feat.
COUNTING THE DAYS
Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering
Pooh's Little Instruction Book, inspired by A.A. Milne
68 DAYS UNTIL WINTER!
72 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
ma

Love your fall pics - and the Scripture from Jeremiah 29! It's my life verse, I think!
I'm glad you gave me permission to pig out on desserts today!! Just kidding! Since my husband is a long-time diabetic, we don't have desserts in our house very often.
Have a blessed weekend!
I love Pooh but have been so busy I didn't realize it was his day. Desserts for me is like honey for Pooh....Is there anymore?
And thanks for the Facebook virus notice, I never seem to get those but it pays to be watchful. Hope your October is going well.
wonderful post. Oug dog is named poohbear, my daughter picked it out.
Oh how fitting Ma!! I had never read Pooh, but saw a good deal on the complete Winnie the Pooh. It arrived yesterday and I have been firmly ensconced and enthralled ever since! Have a wonderful weekend! xxoo
