It's FRIDAY!

Today is Hot Enough for Ya Day

Today it's okay to ask it if you can't think of anything else to say.

Since I'm not working any more it really doesn't seem to make any difference whether this is Friday or Monday. Every day is pretty special for sure!

Many have been enjoying vacations and some are just looking

forward to the weekend.

Whatever you are doing, I hope today is a great one for you!

NEW IN THE KITCHEN

Great-tasting desserts and sweet treats don't have to heat up the kitchen. There are plenty of ways to make cool desserts, from using purchased cakes and toppings to cooking on the stovetop or in the microwave. No-bake cookies are a snap, taking only one minute on the stovetop, and some no-bake cheesecakes

and pies need no cooking at all.

For company, let your guests build their own shortcakes with purchased sponge cake, whipped topping, and a variety of fresh sliced fruits and berries. Keep frozen fruit juice pops on hand for the kids, along with instant puddings and flavored gelatin.

No Bake Cookies

• 4 ounces butter or margarine

• 1/2 cup milk

• 2 cups sugar

• 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

• 3 to 4 tablespoons peanut butter

• 3 cups oats, quick or old-fashioned

• 1 teaspoon vanilla ext

Place chocolate chips, peanut butter, oats, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Combine the margarine, milk, and sugar in a saucepan; bring to a rolling boil. Boil for 1 minute. Combine the hot mixture with the oatmeal and chocolate chip
