ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
MAY 8TH, 2010
It's SATURDAY!
It's good to be home for the weekend. I'm looking forward to going back to DS#6's next week though. I love having my days filled with the smiles and laughter that are so abundant there.
When I got home yesterday evening I found flowers! I got a beautiful bouquet of roses from DS#3 and family and a live miniature rose bush from DS#4 and family. What a wonderful surprise! Thank you all!
And thanks to my next door sister too for taking in my mail and feeding the dirty bird too!
THINKING
Life is all about giving and receiving.
Giving and receiving are bound tightly together. As I turn my thoughts to the blessings of life today, I am full of thankfullness for each one given and received.
The measure you give will be the measure you get, and still more will be given you
Mark 4:24
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
This delicious recipe even has chocolate chips making it a favorite with everyone in your family.
3 large bananas, mashed
1/4 c margarine or butter
2 eggs
1/2 c orange juice
1 t vanilla
1 c sugar
1 t baking soda
1 c all-purpose flour
1/2 c chocolate chips
preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 12-cup muffin tin with nonstick vegetable spray.
Puree bananas or mash very well with a fork. In a separate bowl, combine margarine or butter, eggs, vanilla, and orange juice. Blend in bananas.
In a separate bowl, combine remaining ingredients except for chocolate chips. Gently stir into banana mixture, mixing until fully blended. Stir in chocolate ships.
Spoon approximately 3/4 cup of batter into prepared tin. Bake for 35-45 minutes, covering lightly with foil as necessary to prevent burning on the top.
Bananas are loaded with potassium. This mineral is important to the body's metabolism and can lower blood pressure in hypertensive adults. Most frequently associated with bananas, potassium is actually present in many other fruits and in vegetables, fish, beans, and nuts
PRAYERS
Dear Lord, sometimes daily life is just hard. We get tired and overwhelmed. But You promised to be our strength and our hope and our comfort. So today we look to You for what we need. Would You help us to receive Your grace?
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
AROUND HOME
God is the originator of miracles. He specializes in doing the impossible
Expect a miracle in your life. Expect many miracles
A miracle of sorts happened Friday evening as I arrived home just ahead of a big storm. Funnel clouds were reported in several places and we were under a tornado watch.
Thank the good Lord for getting me home safely. The storm seemed to have gone north and east of us.
FAMILY
DD called Friday to let me know they were headed to the camper and taking their chances on the weather. They needed to get away and when that camper is calling your name, you just have to go. It'll be the end of the month before I can really camp much. She did say that my camper was looking good as I had no more little brown fuzzy visitors. Yeah! I was mouse free!
I have been so enjoying my time at DS#6's that I don't mind at all. There will only ever be this one time that Little Lucky will be a tiny babe and there will only be one time I'll get this wonderful chance to be with him. I know there will be visits but to spend days and weeks like this is a blessing.
Thank you to DS#6 and his wife for giving me this opportunity!
COUNTING THE DAYS
Be not afraid of going slowly;
be afraid only of standing still
43 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
ma

Happy Mother's Day to you! Hope your day is special!
Thanks for the reminder that God still does miracles! We sometimes "overlook" them in our daily lives. I'm glad you were safe during the threatening weather.
Enjoy your week ahead with that precious little one and his family! Isn't retirement wonderful?!
Happy Mother's Day ma!! Glad that you arrived home safe and sound! Tornados are scary things. I have lived in Tornado country before and I know how frigtening a tornado watch can be! xxoo
