For Tuesday, April 6th 2010
ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
APRIL 6TH, 2010
It's TUESDAY!
We had another beautiful day on Monday. There were a few showers early morning but by the time I got to work that stopped and the sun came out. Last night there were thunderstorms and today we are supposed to go up to 80 degrees. We’ll cool off by Wednesday to our normal 60 degree weather.
Today my replacement will be off for a personal day but will be back tomorrow. It will be a quiet day at work for me.
THINKING
In Luke 24:45 we read that Jesus spent the first Easter Sunday evening opening the apostles' minds to the understanding of the Scriptures
When God's word comes alive in our hearts, we realize that Jesus is alive.
Just like the apostles our faith in the risen Jesus comes through hearing God's word
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Tuesdays are Pasta Days
Garden-Fresh Farfalle Pasta & Chicken
3 cups farfalle (bow-tie pasta), uncooked
1 cup baby carrots, diagonally sliced
1 cup frozen peas
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips
1 onion, thinly sliced
1/4 cup Italian Dressing
1 can (14 oz.) fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
1/2 cup Finely Shredded Italian Five Cheese Blend
COOK pasta in large saucepan as directed on package, adding carrots and peas to boiling water the last 3 min.
MEANWHILE, cook and stir chicken in large nonstick skillet 3 to 4 min. or until no longer pink. Remove from skillet; cover to keep warm. Add onions and dressing to skillet; cook 5 min. or until onions are crisp-tender, stirring frequently. Return chicken to skillet. Stir in broth. Bring to boil; simmer on medium-low heat 3 min. or until chicken is done, stirring occasionally.
DRAIN pasta mixture. Add to skillet with basil; stir. Serve topped with cheese.
PRAYERS
Loving God, I feel your healing touch deep in my soul. I sense the power of Easter in your love for me. It is the power of your love that frees me to rely on your gentle care. Let me share Your love with others
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
I have ordered my retirement gift and it should be here soon. My bosses gave me a monetary gift for retirement and with that I purchased a brand new laptop! My days of computer woes should soon be over ! Yes!!!
Have I mentioned how happy I am !
FAMILY
I am remiss in mentioning that DDIL#6’s grandmother passed away over Easter weekend. I’ll be keeping the family in my thoughts and prayers.
And DS#2 is off traveling again. I missed a phone call from him Sunday evening and didn’t get to speak with him. . He called me and due to the fact that I’d left my phone upstairs and I was downstairs I didn’t catch his call. But as always he too is in my prayers for a safe and successful trip
COUNTING THE DAYS
