ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
APRIL 21ST, 2009
TODAY'S THOUGHT
Every woman has the heart of a Queen.
JUST FOR TODAY
We all need to look for the silver linings in our day-to-day lives
JUST FOR TODAY: I will improve my appearance, speak softly, and not interrupt when someone else is talking.
Helen Keller
TODAY’S QUOTE
It has been women who have breathed gentleness and care into the hard progress of mankind
Queen Elizabeth II
IT’S TUESDAY !!
I feel like I barely made it through Monday, but I did. It rained all day and today will be more of the same. I went to bed early and hope today I’ll feel a little perkier than I did yesterday. I don’t know if it was the let down of being off work and then returning or just the weather. I do know I haven’t caught up on my much needed sunshine yet. The winter was just too long.
On my calendar for after work this week is my Thursday evening Bible Study and then after work on Friday I’ll head back to the campground. Otherwise it should be a quiet week. I do need to catch up on my laundry so that will be a good thing.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Lord grant me health, happiness, peace, love and the power of Your Holy Spirit, and help me to remember there is nothing that can happen to me today that You and I can't handle together. Now and forever. Thank you
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
TODAY’S TRIVIA
Today is Big Word Day, a day to use huge words on purpose just to impress yourself. Go on, you can do it
Today is National Teach Your Children to Save Day
Today is Kindergarten Day, a day to recognize the importance of play, games, and creative activity in children's education. A man named Friedrich Froebel actually invented kindergarten. He was born on this day in 1782 in Germany. He grew up to become a teacher, author and toy maker. Nursery school and kindergarten as we know it are the direct results of the influence of Friedrich Froebel. The first public kindergarten in the U.S. was started by Conrad Poppenhusen in College Point, Queens, New York in 1870
Breathing care into the world, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (1926-) was born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor on this day in London, England, the first child of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Although today is her birthday, it is always celebrated in June at the Trooping of the Colours.
1783: Reginald Heber was born in England. He published his first hymn at age 28. His greatest hit: Holy, Holy, Holy
1913: The zipper was patented by Swedish engineer Gideon Sunback. He improved on an 1813 design of Whitcomb Judson called a clasp-locker, which often jammed. Zippers were first used in World War I and appeared on civilian clothes in the 1920's
1977: The musical play Annie opened on Broadway, beginning a run of 2,377 performances
TODAY’S SMILE
Most of what I really need to know about how to live and what to do, and how to be, I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sandbox at nursery school.
TODAY’S REFLECTION
It is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose
Philippians 2:13
God lovingly cultivates the soil of our lives to produce fruit through us - sometimes in ways we never dreamed possible
TODAY’S ADVICE
It’s considered unlucky to be spring cleaning after May
61 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER!
Delight yourself in the Lord
and He will give you the desires of your Heart
Psalm 37:4
May there be a miracle in YOUR life today
and may you have the EYES to SEE it!
I Love You All !!!
Be Blessed !!!

Hope you have a wonderful day. Take this week one day at a time, and pretty soon you'll be camping again!
xoxo
I just love the words of Helen Keller. What an inspirational woman, especially when you think about all she had to overcome. Whew! Finally getting in some blog reading time after a couple of weeks at work that I'd not care to repeat! I've missed you cheery little daily posts!
