JUST FOR TODAY
We all need to look for the silver linings in our day-to-day lives
Just for today: I will give whatever I am doing and whoever I am with the gift of my attention. Even the lowliest task or deed is made holy, joyous, and prosperous when it is filled with love
TODAY’S QUOTE
A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition

IT’S FINALLY FRIDAY !!
I can truthfully say this was a long week for me and I’m glad that now I’ll have two days at home to recoup. All these things still sitting around my house that I brought home from the camper need to be stored in either the basement or the attic and then I want to get into preparations for Thanksgiving. The house needs a good cleaning for sure.
It’s supposed to rain most of the day and maybe tomorrow too so it’ll be good just to be home.
I did receive an e-mail from my friend whose sister had the surgery we were praying for and she said: Thank you and everyone else for the prayers. Please keep her in thoughts for a complete recovery. It will take a good 6 weeks or so we are told. Also if you wouldn’t mind, could you ask them to pray for those who are looking for a job.
I will continue to pray and will be including prayers for those out of work.
Take good care all!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Gracious Lord, thank you for being the beacon of mercy and love that shines through our grief, and for sustaining us in our time of need. Your mercy sustains us in any adversity. In time of need you are always there for us.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Nicolas Appert had, in his search to preserve food, invented a process of heating foods and sealing them in airtight containers. In 1812 he was bestowed with the title, Benefactor of Humanity. Just think, we still use his methods of food preservation today

TODAY’S SMILE
Humor is the great thing, the saving thing after all. The minute it crops up, all our hardness’s yield, all our irritations, and resentments flit away, and a sunny spirit takes their place.
Mark Twain
There is Sunshine in a Smile
Life is a mixture of sunshine and rain,
Laughter and pleasure, tear-drops and pain;
All days can’t be bright, but it’s certainly true,
There was never a cloud the sun didn’t shine through.
So just keep on smiling whatever betide you,
Secure in the knowledge God is always beside you.
And you’ll find when you smile your day will be brighter
And all your burdens will seem so much lighter.
For each time you smile you will find it is true
SOMEBODY, SOMEWHERE will smile back at YOU!
And nothing on earth can make life more worthwhile
Than the sunshine and warmth of a beautiful SMILE.
Helen Steiner Rice
One more…
Take Home a Smile
Take home a smile; forget the petty cares,
The dull, grim grind of all the day’s affairs;
The day is done, come be yourself awhile:
Tonight, to those who wait, take home a smile.
Take home a smile; don’t scatter grief and gloom
Where laughter and light hearts should always bloom;
What though you’ve traveled many a dusty mile,
Footsore and weary, still take home a smile.
Take home a smile — it is not much to do,
But much it means to them who wait for you;
You can be brave for such a little while;
The day of doubt is done — take home a smile
And the very last one for today…
12 Ways to Keep Smiling
Hold on to your dreams, and never let them go.
Show the rest of the world how wonderful you are!
Give circumstances a chance, and give others the benefit of the doubt.
Wish on a star that shines in your sky!
Take on your problems one by one and work things out.
Rely on all the strength you have inside!
Let loose of the sparkle and spirit that you sometimes try to hide.
Stay in touch with those who touch your life with love!
Look on the bright side and don’t let adversity keep you from winning.
Be yourself, because you are filled with special qualities
that have brought you this far, and that will always see you through!
Keep your spirits up.
Make your heart happy, and let it reflect on everything you do!
TODAY’S REFLECTION
The Lord says, I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name, when they call on me, I will answer, I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue them and honor them.
Psalm 91:14-15
It is when things are so uncertain about our lives that we can be certain that God has not abandoned us, but instead is forming us and making us more and more like himself. Be assured that no matter what comes your way, God is in control. God is near you. God will help you through. He is there for you always, ready to hold and comfort you.
So DO NOT give up. Keep holding your hands up to God and He will fill your cup as you do. When your hands get weak, He will help you hold them up for Him!
God loves you that much

IT’S WEDNESDAY !!
OVER THE HUMP DAY!
Well my Tuesday was just beautiful. The weather warmed up and the sun was shining. How great it felt to be warm again! Thank the dear Lord for His many blessings. Today we’ll be even warmer. We should be in the low 70’s by afternoon.
The cold and flu bugs are continuing to go around here. My boss will be out today as he has to stay home with a sick child. He has two that have been sick but one is going back to school today. My hair dresser called in sick yesterday too, so my hair cut was cancelled and rescheduled for next week. I’ll just have to be shaggy awhile longer. At least I’m not sick and that is a wonderful thing.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

While recently waiting in line at the bank, I developed a very loud case of hiccups. Try as I might, I could not rid myself of them or conceal the embarrassing noise, and by the time I reached the teller's window, the hiccups seemed to have actually worsened.
The teller took my personal check I wished to cash and proceeded to run a computer verification of my account.
After a minute she looked up from her terminal with a frown and said that she would be unable to cash my check.
Oh? What's wrong I asked, getting slightly worried and beginning to feel a bit of anxiety creeping up my spine.
I'm sorry, sir, she replied, but our computer indicates that you do not have sufficient funds to cover this amount. As a matter of fact, she continued, our records show your account overdrawn in excess of $5000.
You have to be kidding! I said.
After a short pause she smiled. Yes, I am, she answered and began to cash the check.
But you will notice that your hiccups are gone
TODAY’S REFLECTIONI will say to myself: You have blessings in reserve for years to come. Relax!
Luke 12:19
The man in today's Gospel was already rich (Lk 12:16). He had several grain bins on his property (Lk 12:18). It had been a year since his last harvest, and still he had no room to store this year's harvest
Though rich, he was worried about his future. He could have thanked God for a bountiful harvest; instead, he told himself he was finally financially secure enough to relax. When deciding how to handle his harvest, he consulted himself rather than God
Some of us could fall into this trap of desiring to be secure for the rest of our life . The only treasures any of us can count on keeping for eternity are the ones we have given up for love of God and his children.
It makes no sense to store up our talents and gifts. No one would benefit from that. So be generous! Give your time and resources to the Lord! The more you give away, the more he fills you with the treasures of his life, his love, and his blessings

We did have some sunshine and warmer weather yesterday which was a blessing for sure. And I think today is suppose to bring us more of the same. Wednesday they say it will make it up to 70. I guess this must be our Indian Summer as we’ve now had the first freezing temps of the year.
This evening is going to be a busy one for me after work. It’s that time of the month again to get my hair cut. It’s a good thing too as I feel like a shaggy bear.

TODAY’S SMILE
One day God was looking down at Earth and saw all of the evil that was going on. He decided to send an angel down to Earth to check it out. So he called on a female angel and sent her to Earth for a time. When he returned she told God, yes it is bad on Earth, 95% is bad and 5% is good. Well, he thought for a moment and said maybe I had better send down a male angel; to get both points of view. So God called a male angel and sent him to Earth for a time. When the male angel returned he went to God and told him yes, the Earth was in decline, 95% was bad and 5% was good. God said this was not good. He decided to E-mail the 5% that were good and encourage them, a little something to help them keep going.-

TODAY’S REFLECTION
Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, you are very great. You are clothed with honor and majesty, wrapped in light as with a garment. You stretch out the heavens like a tent, you set the beams of your chambers on the waters, you make the clouds your chariot, you ride on the wings of the wind, you make the winds your messengers, fire and flame your ministers. You set the earth on its foundations, so that it shall never be shaken. You cover it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. At your rebuke they flee; at the sound of your thunder they take to flight. They rose up to the mountains, ran down to the valleys to the place that you appointed for them. You set a boundary that they may not pass, so that they might not again cover the earth.

The little one was even sucking his thumb in one of them. I said he, but we do not know if the baby is a he or she.

Paul Harvey tells the following story:
It was a terrible winter in Chicago. Many of the rooftops were overloaded with snow. Robert McGrath watched his wife go out into the backyard garage to fetch some boxes. Seconds later he heard a crash. Looking out, he saw that the roof of the garage had caved in.Without even stopping for his hat or coat, Mr. McGrath ran from the house, grabbed a snow shovel and called out for his neighbors to come and help.
Yelling and digging with his sweat freezing on his face, frantically throwing snow and pulling away boards, he dug at the rubble until he was nearly exhausted. Then, finally, he heard his wife's voice. Minutes later, he saw her hand. He kept working until his wife was safely in his arms and asked if she was all right. She was.
Now for the rest of the story:
It seems that a neighbor witnessed the whole event and told everyone later what really happened. Apparently Mrs. McGrath had gone into the garage through one door, and left through another! She was safely back in the house when she looked out and saw what had happened. There, by the collapsed garage was her husband – furiously digging and shouting orders and throwing lumber as he desperately tried to rescue her.
He was the picture of love poured out! In that moment, she decided that she could not let that loving man down. So, she put on her coat, went out into the garage by way of the back door and crawled under some boards. Then, she let her husband Bob find her.
Paul Harvey finishes the story by saying that sometimes,
the most loving thing you can do is to let someone else be your hero!

Thank the dear Lord for a warm house and a good hot cup of coffee! It is very cold here. I think most of the state of Ohio had a hard freeze last night.
We got the camper closed up for the season and I got my flu shot yesterday morning as planned. It was pouring rain when I left but had stopped by the time I got down to the camper. That was a blessing as we didn’t have to put everything away wet.

Today I need to unload my car (I was just too tired last night when I got home) and try and find a spot for all the things I brought home from the camper.

IT’S SATURDAY !!Good Morning Sweet Things…It is Sweetest Day here in the USA and I’m wishing you all the best of ‘sweet things’ today!
I’m off early this morning to go and get my flu shot. They open at 9:00 so I figured I’d leave here about 8:30. I hope it won’t be a long wait. I’ve heard that you can use your Medicare card for these shots so today will be the very first time I’ll get to use it and hopefully won’t use again until next year’s flu shot.
After the shot business I’ll head to the camper to see what I can pack away. I’ve made what my babes call the ‘moving sub’ for lunch and am taking everyone’s favorite chips to go with it.
I guess it is called ‘moving sub’ (submarine sandwich) because I’ve fixed it so many times when someone in our family has been moving. All those years of helping kids move made for a lot of sandwiches for sure.
This is it—the official end of camping season for me this year. I’m not camping there at all this weekend. I’m just packing stuff away and DSIL will probably help me by getting the antifreeze pumped through my water lines. That will be it. We’ll lock everything away til next April sometime.

TODAY’S REFLECTION
Why is it Abraham who rates the title ‘father of all … who believe’?
Romans 4:11
Faith has been described as a personal adherence of the whole man to God who reveals himself. Not just Abraham’s intellect but his will and his entire self—the whole ma--clung to the God who had revealed Himself to him
Faith is a supernatural gift from God. So we should never think that we can create this faith solely by our own good intentions. No, it has already been planted in our hearts, and God is waiting for us to make the right choices that will allow it to blossom in us
