Hallmark!
Today is Bubble Bath Day which has been enjoyed for thousands of years. In ancient Rome, bathing in a public facility was part of the daily routine for most citizens. A trip to the Roman baths might include a dip in the caldarium, hot tub, and a brief break in the faconicum, sauna, and a refreshing swim in the frigedarium, cold pool.
In the past, Americans bathed once a week for personal hygiene. Today, a daily shower is standard, but it’s important to indulge in a luxurious soak every once in a while. A bubble bath can help open up your pores, cleanse your skin, and relax muscles.
To celebrate today, pick up a bottle of your favorite bubble bath product and fill your tub tonight. Create a calming spa atmosphere with music, candles and a towel to cushion your neck. Enjoy!
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side
I'm sorry I have no more pictures to share today, I can't upload any new ones.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Two of my favorite things, bubbles and relaxation.

Bubble baths are something I rarely take anymore. It’s not that I don’t enjoy them but getting out of tub has become too hard for me. When I was younger, I did take a bubble bath often. There’s nothing like a hot soak in the tub to relax your tired muscles and warm you up, after shoveling snow. I don’t or should say I can’t do that anymore either.
Getting older for me, is not easy. Everything is harder for me to do. What I once enjoyed, is now a chore for me.
Still I am grateful for each new day and try to do the best I can with what I have.
There is a song that says the old gray mare ain’t what she used to be. Yup! that is me for sure ! I can only hope you do better in old age than I am.
My children always enjoyed bubble baths too and played with their toys in the bath. One of them was a yellow duckie, which I’m showing in my pictures today. Maybe you have one at your house too!
As I’m starting a new week, it’s time to make something new to eat and on the menu is:
Chicken and Spinach Soup with Fresh Pesto
Makes 5 servings
2 tsp. plus 1 Tbsp. olive oil, divided.
1/2 cup carrot or diced red bell pepper
1 large boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into quarters
1 garlic clove, minced
5 cups chicken broth
1 1/2 tsp. dried marjoram
6 oz. baby spinach, coarsely chopped
1 15 oz. can great northern beans, rinsed
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/3cup lightly packed fresh basil leaves
Freshly ground pepper to taste
3/4 cup plain or herbed croutons for garnish, optional
Heat 2 tsp. oil in a large pan over medium high heat. Add carrot or bell pepper and chicken, cooking and stirring until the chicken begins to brown. Add garlic and cook one minute more. Stir in broth and marjoram; bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to simmering, stirring occasionally until chicken is cooked through.
With a slotted spoon, transfer the chicken pieces to a plate to cool. Add the spinach and beans to the pot and bring to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes.
Combine the remaining oil, Parmesan and basil in a food processor until a coarse paste forms, adding a little water and scraping down the sides as necessary.
Cut the chicken to bite size pieces. Stir it and the pesto into the pot. Season with pepper. Heat until hot. Garnish with croutons if desired.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday !

Celebrate today and enjoy a hot bubble bath, It will sooth all your troubles away!
My Louis Dean dearly loves bubble baths! We only have a shower down here at the ranch but the first thing he does when we go back home is soak in a hot tub! Love how you always include a recipe!!
Gosh, I can't recall the last time I sat in a bubble bath! I used to enjoy pouring a little bit of baby-oil under the faucet. That felt so awesome on my skin, but I had to stop b/c the oil made the tub slick as ice.
Tom and I were just weighing the possibilities of a bath re-do and I floated the idea of getting rid of the tub and doing a big shower instead with one of those fold-down bench seats. That seems to be the trend nowadays.
Bubble baths, now that brings back some VERY sweet memories of our early marriage. Once we got a bathtub!!! LOL
