Hallmark!
Today is astronaut Neil Armstrong’s birthday, we honor the famous astronaut's big day. We celebrate his astounding accomplishments. It was July of 1959 when Armstrong famously took one small step for them and one giant leap for mankind. His moon walk lasted 2 and a half hours, and was documented by only 11 pictures, most of which were taken by Armstrong himself.
Armstrong was accompanied by fellow astronaut Buzz Aldrin, who helped Armstrong plant an American flag on the moon’s surface. Shortly after planting the flag, the astronauts received a call from President Richard Nixon, who gave the entire crew the Presidential Medal of Freedom upon their return to Earth. Neil Armstrong also received the Congressional Space Medal from President Jimmy Carter in 1978, Not a bad for a kid from small town Ohio,
To celebrate today, watch a dicumentary about the Apollo 11 mission from the comfort of your home, or read a book about Neil Armstrong’s accomplishments. The sky’s the limit!
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
This is one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.
Neil Armstrong
I remember watching this on TV when I was in high school. The papers and magazines were full of pictures of the moon walk too. I kept many of them as keepsakes from long ago. He dared to go where no one had before. His adventure is one we’ll never forget.
The pictures today were taken by DS#5 when they visited Washington DC. What a sight to see the history of man flying.
It’s my day to cook something to last the whole weekend. I like to rest on Sunday and not cook.
On the menu is:
Summer Chicken Parmesan
Makes 4 servings
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 egg, lightly beaten
2/3 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
4 chicken breast cutlets
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
2 Tbsp. olive oil, divided
Cooking spray
3/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 1/2 cups chopped zucchini
1 1/2 cups cherry tomatos, halved
2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
Preheat broiler with oven rack in the middle position. Place flour, egg and breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes. Springkle chicken with pepper. Dredge in flour, dip in egg and dredge in breadcrumbs.
Heat 1/2 tsp, oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add cutlets; cook 1 minute on each side. Place on baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Repeat with remaining oil and cutlets.
Top cutlets with cheese ; broil 1 1/2 minutes until a thermometer insert in the thickest part registers 165 degrees. Heat remaining oil in skillet. Add zucchini, saute 1 minute. Add remaining pepper, tomatoes and garlic. Saute 4 minutes. Serve with chicken and top with basil.
You could also make this on an outside grill if desired. It’s hot cooking in the kitchen.
l hope you all have a SUPER Saturday !
COUNTING MY BLESSINGS
The Moon is our nearest neighbor in space - Only about a a quarter of a million miles away- and is our faithful companion, staying together with us as we journey around the Sun.

Remember Neil Armstrongs greatest accomplishment. The first human to step on the moon!
I'll never forget watching Nail Armstrong's moon walk. And when they planted the flag! Wow. Makes me sad when (some) young people now claim it was all a made-up hoax.
Happy Saturday!
I remember that too! I just asked Andy the other day if he thought the flag was still there. He said yes - that there is nothing in the atmosphere to take it down - like wind.
God bless you.
