Decide to be happy today, to live with what is yours – your family, your business, your job, your luck. If you can’t have what you like, maybe you can like what you have.
Just for today, be kind, cheerful, agreeable, responsive, caring, and understanding. Be your best, dress your best, talk softly, and look for the bright side of things. Praise people for what they do and do not criticize them for what they cannot do. If someone does something stupid, forgive and forget. After all, it’s just for one day.
Who knows, it might turn out to be a nice day.

I love the beach, so I decided to make a place in my house dedicated to the beach. It is a peaceful and restful space to be.
Back in 1957 we moved to Honolulu for a Navy duty stint. Amazing then but I think it has gotten crowded and commercialized which is true for everywhere. I hope you get to go (for your Mom) I don't think you will regret it.
King Kamehameha I seemed like he did quite a bit for his country. We had the opportunity to go to Hawaii the last 4th of July. Nice and pretty, but I wouldn't want to live there.
King Kamehameha I, . I heard the name while in Hawaii. It is beautiful country. I was never much on history in the Pacific, but I sure heard lot of prayers mentioning the Pacific, some all night while my brother was there in WWII
Sherry's Brother was over there he even brought a monkey back from one of the islands. LOL
When we started traveling full time, my dream destination was Alaska Sherry's was Hawaiil WE were fortunate to make both trips. The only draw back to Hawaii was the flight for Sherry, but to see her dream she bit the bullet and got on the plane.
WE were both very satisfied with what we found. Great places...
Sherry & jack on the road....
I'm not familiar with King 'K' day or the islands' history. Interesting! Now if your kiddos could arrange a big get-together there, wouldn't that be a dream-come-true? Like my father used to say, "It's just money." (*grin*)
My folks took me to Oahu with them many years ago. 🍍
