ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

It’s National Chip and Dip Day. which celebrates this American party snack. Whether you prefer tortilla chips, potato Chips, or corn chips there are dozens of dips to complement the snack of your choice.
Some of the earliest dips were hummus and olive oil, which originated in the Mediterranean region and are still very popular today. Salsas and dips made with sour cream became popular in the U.S. in the 1940’s. Chips and dip became the go to party dish because it was so simple to prepare.
Here is a basic nacho cheese dip that you can spice up to suit your own taste.
Nacho Cheese Dip
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. milk
4 slices processed cheese
1/4 tsp salt
mix and match, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, finely chopped onions or tomatoes to taste
In a medium saucepan over medium low heat melt the butter and stir in flour combining well. It’s important that you don’t let mixture brown. Next bring heat up to medium and pour in milk. Still well again until mixture thickens a bit. Mixing constantly add the cheese piece by piece, then add salt as well.
Continue to cook and stir until the cheese is melted and all ingredients are well blended, about 15 minutes. Then add your choice of the things to make it taste the way you want. A pinch or two of chili powder or garlic or cumin. You could also add some onions or tomatoes. Serve hot with corn chips or tortillas
Makes 1 cup

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A party without cake is just a meeting.
Julia Child
I love to snack and chips of all kinds are good. I haven’t made the dip recipe that I shared before, but it does sound pretty easy and tasty too. More than not, I buy the already prepared variety. If it weren’t for snacking, I’d probably be slim and trim…ha!
I’m making a list and checking it twice today to make sure I’ve everything ready to take tomorrow for our family gathering. It’s been a busy week here and I’m ready to just sit back and enjoy it all.
The Easter Bunny is hippity hopping on his way! I saw him from the parking lot the other day!
The next few days are to be mostly sunny but our temps are to be right around the mid 30’s. Not very spring like at all. But I sure am thankful the snow stopped.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

Good morning! I hope you have a wonderful celebration! Will there be chips and dip involved?
Enjoy your family gathering! MUCH more fun than shoveling snow... I'm glad the white stuff has stopped falling. Spring will get there any minute now... maybe.
I remember one year here in Georgia, our outdoor sunrise Easter service had to move into the church halfway through, because it was snowing!
