INTERNATIONAL MOUNTAIN DAY

International Mountain Day is an opportunity to create awareness about the importance of mountains to life, to highlight the opportunities and constraints in mountain development and to build partnerships that will bring positive change to the world’s mountains and highlands.

Mountains are crucial to life. Whether we live at sea level or the highest elevations, we are connected to mountains and affected by them in more ways than we can imagine. Mountains provide most of the world's freshwater, harbour a rich variety of plants and animals, and are home to one in ten people.

Our great country is full of beautiful mountain ranges, but here where I live, it is flat ground. We may have a few gentle hills but no mountains for sure.  The mountains in my life are what I call obstacles .  Things I have to work around in order to accomplish what I want to do.  

All of us has had one time or another to face or deal with some mountains in our lives. It does not matter if you are young or old, all of us has had to face or deal with some mountains in our lives.

It does not matter if you are rich or poor, educated or not, all of us had had to face or deal with some mountains in our lives.  Here is a  list of just some of them:

the mountains of obstacles, 

mountains of problems,
mountains of difficulties,
mountains of setbacks,
mountains of stumbling blocks,
mountains of troubles,
mountains of burdens,
mountains of hardship,
mountains of defeat
mountains of fear,
mountains of uncontrolled anger and bitterness
mountains of discouragement,
mountains of disappointments,
mountains of failure,
mountains of depression and sorrow,
mountains of peer pressure
mountains of negative thinking,
mountains of low self esteem ,
mountains of sickness,
mountains of crisis.

But there is a sweet relief in knowing that no matter what mountain you are facing and no matter what mountain you are dealing with right now, just be assured that they can be removed; because God is bigger than your mountain. 

In this Advent season before Christmas many of us have mountains of things to do.  Today I'm going shopping!

COUNTING MY GIFTS

I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts.

46. having faith that no matter what, all will be well.

47.  for the beauty of nature, even when all the leaves are gone and the trees are bare

48.  for having one of my 'big' Christmas projects completed!!!

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in

your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families for the

selfless acts they perform for us

in our time of need. I ask this in the

name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
