World Teachers Day

Teachers’ Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of the role played by teachers all over the world. The responsibility for educating future generations is not a light one by any means, so show your support for these dedicated and important people not just on Teachers’ Day, but throughout the whole year.

I would be very remiss if I didn't let you know that the first Friday in October is also National SMILE Day.  Blessings can be given and received in many different ways. One of the simplest and easiest is by giving a smile.  Nothing hard about it so why don't you give it a try. Today, give a stranger one of your smiles.  It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.

We've a lot of teachers in our family so I always like to celebrate this day.  I know how dedicated they all are and how much it takes to be a good teacher.  So today I'm sending out lots of SMILES and hugs to all teachers everywhere!

Our very first teachers are our parents.  And I know what a monumental task that can be.  The teaching and the learning never stops.  I still learn something new every day of my life.

Do you remember your teacher having an apple on her desk?  I certainly do.  I remember a friend that was a teacher and that is what she had for lunch every day.  No wonder that she was a tiny little thing.

I hope you all have a fantastic Friday!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

PARENTS AND TEACHERS WORKING TOGETHER 

I dreamed I stood in a studio

And watched two sculptors there, 

The clay they used was a young child's mind 

And they fashioned it with care

One was a teacher; the tools being used 

Were books and music and art, 

One a parent with a guiding hand 

And a gentle, loving heart.

Day after day the teacher toiled 

With touch that was deft and sure, 

While the parent labored just as hard

 And polished and smoothed it o'er.

When at last their task was done 

They were proud of what they had wrought,

 For the things they had molded into the child

Could neither be sold nor bought.

 And both agreed they would have failed 

If they had worked alone; 

For behind the parents stood the school 

And behind the teacher, the home.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in

your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families for the

selfless acts they perform for us

in our time of need. I ask this in the

name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters

and Paramedics and EMT's
