NEW YEAR'S EVE
New Year's Eve is when all the fun and festivities are. We see out the old year and ring in the new. To many Americans, the ball dropping at Times Square in New York City signals the start of the new year in this country. The ball was first dropped in 1908
Today is also Make Up Your Mind Day. All during the year, you've put on hold, many issues and decisions. Eventually, they need to be resolved and decided upon. Well, today is the day. It's not a day to procrastinate. It's not a day to put off making a decision. If you are going to make up your mind this year, you'd better do it real soon. And, when you think about it, isn't it a great idea to clean the slate in advance of the new year!?
You may want to begin, by making up your mind whether you will make New Year's resolutions. Then, make up your mind just what those resolutions will be.
Drop the last year into the silent limbo of the past. Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go.

NEW IN THE KITCHENIt's no coincidence that today is National Champagne Day. This sparkling wine imported from the Champagne region of France is a luxury item that is the traditional first taste of the New Year for many people. While there won't be any Champagne around my house this year, I did find this recipe to share with you that sounds wonderful.
Festive Raspberry Champagne Floats
10 ounces frozen raspberries in syrup, thawed
3 1/4 cups dry white champagne
2 cups raspberry sherbet, softened
In blender container, puree raspberries until smooth, add 1/4 cup sugar to raspberries in blender.
strain to remove seeds. In large pitcher or punch bowl, combine raspberry puree, champagne and sherbet; stir until frothy and well blended. Serve immediately in champagne glasses or punch cups.
When using frozen raspberries in light syrup
Makes 12 servings

Although we have had some light snow this December, it has truly been a month to enjoy as we've had several days of milder temps and traveling for the holidays was a little safer this year due to dry roads. All that is to change in the New Year though. The weather man is saying we could have some substantial snow fall the beginning of next week. We'll see...
The cold snowy months of January, February and March are my least favorite of the year, still I am looking forward to the days ahead. There will be many family celebrations for us and even though I won't be able to attend many of them, I'll still be there in spirit as I do love celebrating with my family. For me the months ahead will be spent here inside where it is warm and cozy.
I've put the days until camping season begins here in my newsletter not only because I do look forward to camping but also because I know that by then warmer and sunnier days will be here.
Speaking of warmer weather my, newest grandson will be making an appearance in May this coming year!
Yes, they found out yesterday that the baby is a BOY! DD and the baby are both doing just fine! Thank the dear Lord for His many blessings!
