It's TUESDAY!

Today is National Lazy Day, a day to take it easy.

I'm hoping to get out for a walk this morning. With the temps and the humidity rising it may not be very pleasant outside today. I'm just about done with my laundry for this week so today I'll have plenty of time to work on things around the house. It may even be a good day to paint some more or clean the house.

Or it may be a good day just to be lazy.

We'll see...

NEW IN THE KITCHEN

Today is Nation S'Mores Day

S'mores are a favorite campsite treat for young and old kids. If you're at a campfire, chances are, there's S'mores. Sticky and gooey, and loaded with sugar and carbs, S'mores are nothing short of delicious

The origin of S'mores dates back to the 1920's. It's believed the recipe was first discovered by Girl Scouts. S'more folklore suggests that S'mores got its name right by the campfire.

Gather around a warm campfire with friends or family

Break a graham cracker into two halves. Place one quarter of a chocolate bar on one half of a graham cracker

Stick one large marshmallow on the end of a wire or clean stick. An unwound wire hanger works well. Hold your marshmallow several inches over the hot embers of the fire

Rotate the wire as the marshmallow cooks, allowing the marshmallow to become lightly browned all over.

Place the browned marshmallow on top of the graham cracker and chocolate

Place the other half of the graham cracker on top of the marshmallow, creating a sandwich

While firmly holding the two graham crackers together, pull the wire out of the marshmallow

Wait about 30 seconds for the warm marshmallow to melt the chocolate.

Enjoy eating the s'more after allowing it to cool. You'll want some more - so return to step two.

AROUND HOME

Are you rich? Think about it...friendships are priceless, time is invaluable, health is wealth, and love is a treasure.

On my calendar this week is a hair cut at noon today, return to the camper on Thursday and then the baby shower for DS#5 and his wife on Saturday. It was great to have DD do my shopping for the shower. I'm not exactly sure what we bought but she very generously spent some money for me. She was out shopping when I was at the camper last week and volunteered to do that. Having a daughter is a blessing indeed.

The best way to keep your kids out of hot water is to put some dishes in it.
