ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
APRIL 29TH, 2010
It's THURSDAY!
It's now been 20 days since I retired from work and I can't believe how fast those 20 days have gone. I'll have to admit that I'm adapting
to this wonderful way of life even better than I thought I would. There has not been a day yet that I have missed going off to work. I don't think I ever will
either.
I've not had one boring moment either and that too is something I don't think I'll ever see. If anything my life is much busier and more rewarding than it has been for quite awhile.
We are having another beautiful full moon right now. You know they
are special to me. This is the Full WILD GOOSE moon. We all see the same moon and when I see it I think of that and of all of you.
THINKING
There is only one path that leads each of us toward God but we travel it differently and will come together at the end of
the road.
Jesus said, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.
John 14:3
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Thursdays are SANDWICHES FOR DINNER DAY at my house
DSE#6 introduced me to Wraps made with a basil flavored
tortillas and they are delicious.
Wrap sandwiches first burst upon the lunch scene about 10 years ago. These sandwiches are variations of traditional sandwiches; but the bread is different.
Any type of flat bread is spread with a hot or cold sandwich filling, rolled up, and eaten out of hand
Herbed spreadable cheese is a fantastic base for any wrap sandwich. Here it's paired with sliced turkey, tomatoes, and Swiss cheese.
herbed spreadable cream cheese
thinly sliced cooked turkey
tomato, thinly sliced
thinly sliced deli Havarti cheese
baby spinach leaves
sliced mushrooms
Spread herbed cheese and top with remaining ingredients. Roll up tortilla, enclosing the filling.
Enjoy!
PRAYERS

nd to learn to love each other for who we are now

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their

your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us
.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
AROUND HOME
I always like to list some of the things I'm thankful for in my life and today
I'm thankful that I had a chance to catch up on a little sleep last night. Every 4 hour feedings haven't been a part of my life for a very long time until this week. I've been trying to give DS#6 and his wife a little break so they can get some much needed rest. They both have to go off to work each day and both have jobs require a lot so I figure I can forgo a little sleep as I can also rest while the
baby is napping.
Just about the time I get used to it my days at their house wi
ll come to an end. And hopefully too the baby will be sleeping the night through for them by that time.
FAMILY
I was reminded by DDIL#1 that this is It's Special Education week. This is in honor of all the kids and adults who need a little extra help & understanding. Parents that have a child with special needs and people that teach children with special needs deserve a lot of praise and encouragement. I am blessed to have both in my family and they are very special people indeed.
I've found that my internet connection is much stronger at
my son's house. Here at home I have a weak connection. I'm able to connect though and th
at is the important thing.
Being in touch with family and friends every day has become very important to me. It makes me feel so much more connected to what goes on in the world. Here at my house the world seems so far away most days and
I'd be lost with out it.
I'm so thankful that I've been blessed with family and friends to keep in touch with
COUNTING THE DAYS
To Realize The Value of Time...
author unknown
To realize the value of one year:
Ask a student who has failed a final exam.
To realize the value of one month:
Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value of one hour:
Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of one minute:
Ask the person who has missed the train, bus or plane.
To realize the value of one second:
Ask a person who has survived an accident.
To realize the value of one millisecond:
Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics.
Time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you have.
You will treasure it even more when you share it with someone special.
53 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
